Who Driven in Dyno mode all day long Post your thoughts
Curuios to knwo who has enable dyno mode in their car and driven all day. Seem to me more fun to drive has a kick to it.What you think wondering if it hurts the car in any way. Beside just being dangerous to drive.
|
will not harm your vehicle, other than possibly wearing out your rear tires sooner or allowing you to crash into something :)
|
it disables all your helpful features like ESP, BAS, and i believe ABS... so if you need to take action if a situation arises you better be good behind the wheel..... Other than that, its lots of fun...
|
not a good idea, you will have no electronic traction/braking assistance.

Big deal if you lose all electronically assisted features. People drive cars without these amenities all the time. Just be careful.

Turn it right once, Press and hold thr accept call button and the Ok button at the same time on the steering wheel for 5 secs . You will be in the secret menu. I think its the second option in the Menu where you can change the Dyno mode EPS off when car switched off to ON status. A forum member did a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tLtaMPS46o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KURqzKHJ4k&NR=1 |

I wouldn't feel safe driving in Dyno mode. No ABS, ESB..etc I would have to wait till spring/summer to try it out, in the rain here it's not a good idea.

Good Grief...the only stability control, ABS and traction control my first 10 or 12 cars had were my right foot and left hand (while manually shifting with the other two extremities of course) It was the skill of the driver that kept the car out of the weeds and not much else...a little luck a few times for me maybe.:naughty:
Anyhow, technology is great and indeed makes these cars safer in any given situation, but it is amazing how quickly we end up pushing our cars to the performance envelope with these new techs. We end up no safer, just a little faster. If you leave your e- nannies off, just don't forget it when you take a wet, off camber downhill sweeper to the freeway just a little to hot for the natural goodness of the suspension and throttle modulation to handle.... |

I suspect a lot of people on the forums have never had a car with no electronic aids? Kind of like most of the teenagers I talk to are scared to death of a clutch.
I'm old enough that AC and power windows still feel like luxury items. For those young-ins ... those used to be expensive options. My very first car, in 1984, AC was an $1100 option. On a $12000 car. (Honda Accord). |
I haven't, and personally don't see / feel a need to drive in Dyno Mode on the street. If I was on a track then maybe I would think about it.
I am 25 now, and previous car had no electronic aides at all. I am not afraid to get the car sideways to anything of the nature. Just in this day of age ABS rules in braking. Do you really want to risk taking your brand new benz on the streets in "dyno mode" just so you can get a little extra wheel spin risking the fact that any one in front of you in a legitimate car WITH ABS can slam on the brakes and most likely you will rearend them? Not worth the risk in the slightest so I can look cool going around a turn. |
I don't get the dyno mode coolness either? :nix: I can get my C300 sport on oem 18" AMG's to neg-lock at will and keep it there for a awhile just by turning the ESP off on the dash. I can also to a full dougnut 180 or 360 with enough space too. Trust me you can get into the same shenanigans by just disabling the ESP.

So my buddy just got a 2010 w204 c63 457hp version, i know waste of money not to get forged headers blah blah. Anyway we cant get it into dyno mode. We tried the video but it doesn't work. Any advice?
I can get to the reset trip odometer option, and that's it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KURqzKHJ4k&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tLtaMPS46o |
