Removing Black Roof Trim

Roof trim removal
Oh, all right. The roof trim is held by plastic clips in a groove at the roof edge. If it comes off like a W203, (why not?) then you start at the front. Lift the hood so that when the trim comes free you will not nick the trim.
Grasp the trim alongside the windshield with both hands, fingers under the trim, and pull upwards carefully until it's free, but no more. Then work your way back being careful not to bend it. The last part to come free will be at the rear. You will see a number of plastic clips in the groove. If you have broken any, you will have to get some from the dealer before reinstalling, starting at the rear and working forward, pressing it down with the heel of your hand. If the clips are in two colors, observe where the other color clip is located because they are not interchangeable. This was true in the W203 and you won't know what the new car is like until you have the trim off.
It's easier if you have help so that the trim doesn't whip around and scratch the paint.
