C300 Replacing factory speakers...

I have a 2008 C300 with non MM, I want to replace the factory speakers but keep the stock headunit, has anyone done this before? How's the sound quality, was it big difference in quality comparing to the stock speakers? Any recommendations for shops in the Los Angeles area that has experience in German car audios?

Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Unfortunately, its not that simple.

Speakers have to be designed for the impedance and power rating of a system. To just go in and change them without being matched to the amplifier will likely cause distortion, low bass and low overall volume.

If you were wanting to upgrade the speakers, you need to also upgrade the amplifier to one that is better suited for the speakers.

If you just got your C300, give it a month of two and you'll be surprised how well the existing speakers break in.

Yea I'm thinking of doing the same. It's not too difficult any reputable car audio place can do it.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
An amp upgrade is definitely in order. To me it seems the speakers are not being used to their potential.

What I want to do is replace the factory speakers only, and keep all factory amp and factory radio in tact. I think it should make a difference but I want to hear it from others who have done it just to be sure.

others just told you and you still seem to think you know best... go waste your money, plus some questions were posed to you in this thread for better understanding of what you have, i.e. age of vehicle... maybe you should re-read your thread
