HID's are the only way to match HID's.

No, just make sure you get the kits that don't error, or get the error cancelers. I believe the w204's have a cover over the back of the fogs so you'll probably need to drill a hole to pass wires through.

Hi Andrusha, I'm also thinking of installing HID to my C300.. I'm looking at DDMtuning.com website (http://ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html) and I have a few questions to ask if you dont mind:

1. the slim ballast, did you get the 35W/55W?
2. Is the slim ballast kit the only thing you need to get?
3. I'm new to these stuffs, and I remember reading that you have to drill some hole to the housing to get some wires in, is that right?

Thanks in advance

1. I placed an order for 35W
2. Slim Ballast and error cancelation
3. No drilling just took a filer and made a little groove in a cap for the wires to pass.

PS I placed an order for regular ballast not slim and they upgraded me for free to slim ballast installation was easy.

It should be the same as my high beams that I did. It's not a small hole. I think it's 23mm. Once you drill and pass the wires through there is a gigantic grommet that is already included in almost all HID kits i've seen. This grommet will match up perfectly with the hole and keep everything sealed. I can take a pic of my high beams and post it if you want.

im thinking of getting my fogs updated what would be the best option? I dont want to do HIDs since it involves alot of work... which bulbs would be the best to match my 6k HIDs?

there really isnt a best way to match HID bulbs for your fogs, there are too many factors involved with this car. firstly,The main headlamps sit behind a projector and the only way to really match them are to build a matching projector for your fogs with the same specs as the main headlamps. Secondly halogen bulbs dont burn consistently like HID bulbs do. Over time the halogen will change in color temp due the life if the bulb. so with that being said you could put an HID bulb in the fog and it would come close in color but not match 100%. you would especially notice this in the corner or side view of the lamps when they are both turned on. So it really comes down to how picky are you going to be with matching....
trust me ive gone thru this with my car. i wanted to color match mine too but im waaaaayyy to picky, i just ended up buying a 3K HID kit for my fogs and since 3K will actually work better in fog im comfortable with that. plus it gets really foggy here in central cali, so it just works better. just my 2 cents, hope this helps.
