What would you trade your C for?

I have a 2008 loaded C300 4Matic and when I was buying it I looked at the 328xi and the G35.

Now, a little over a year later I'm thinking of getting out of my C for various reasons, what do you guys and gals think is a good option? I was going to go for the GLK but since I already have an RDX I don't know if I want 2 SUV's ... So assuming sedan, here's what I've come to:

2007/2008 528xi (impossible to find)
2009 TL AWD Tech
2009 G37

I'm still not a fan of the 328xi, so have left it off the list ... am I missing anything else that I should be considering? New or 1-2 years old is all I'm thinking.

Let me know your thoughts please ...

Thanks!

(oh drove the Infiniti M35 AWD yesterday ... gross)

Infiniti's do zero for me, styling or the way they drive.

The new TL is a damn good car but the ugliest in it's segment.

Current BMW's are just to bland to be engaging.

Look at an Audi A4 or Cadillac CTS? Acura TSX gets the 3.5 V6 from the base TL for 2010..

Maybe the Audi A5 or A6.

C300Sport 02-15-2009 06:44 PM

Cadillac CTS or Audi A6 would be nice. I even like the Lincoln MKS but it may be a little bland for you.

Considering that over here, a C280 costs around 87k USD due to taxes, I would sell my car here, move to the USA and buy myself a C63!

omgitselaine 02-15-2009 08:47 PM

A5 or S5 :y

C43AMG 02-15-2009 09:18 PM

05' E55 ! :y

sacguy 02-15-2009 09:35 PM

Audi A5 or S5 or used CLS or E or BMW 5, but hate the interior of the 5, so spartan. Audi is beautifully done inside and the A5/S5 looks good. Acura's new sedan designs are FUGLY and Infiniti is so Nissanish - 2nd tier luxury brand. If you like Japanese, how about the Lexus IS350?

Funny how the C class is losing its luster after a year with many of its buyers. I too want to get rid of mine, but really in this market its just not feasible. I might as well drive it for another year or so and then think about trading it in, as its already paid for.

First on my list will be the GLK. Hard to beat the price point for the amount of car and options your getting. BMW is flirting with the idea of an X1, which might be an interesting option, but if your turned off on BMW's it doesn't matter. The Audi Q5 is getting good reviews, but falls under the GLK RDX segment. If your looking for a sedan I would hold out a few months and check out the new 10 E class, the promo photos look great.

My 220CDI is brilliant, I really enjoy driving it at all times.
If I had to replace it I would try the new 250 CDI . Other wise I would seriously consider a diesel C5 Citroen . A beautiful looking , economical & supremely comfortable vehicle. You Americans are at a huge disadvantage not having quality vehicles like this at your disposal !!! http://72.14.235.132/search?q=cache:...lnk&cd=1&gl=au

I might be trading mine in for a 335xi soon. Need AWD but want more power. :p:

Flame3g 02-16-2009 10:38 AM

traded mine for a CLK500 :D but if i could do it all over again i would sell it and get more money for it:y

sleewell 02-16-2009 11:03 AM

i'm in the same boat. i like my C but would consider looking but its really not the right market to be doing something like that.

but......

next time around i will look at:

E55 or any E class w/ 4matic
Cadilac CTS - the one with the big engine
BMW 5 series
CLS550
possibly an AMG C class but i would like more backseat space.

I used to have an Acura TL, and loved it. So the 2009 TL with SH-AWD is on my list.
Along with:
Cadillac CTS
Audi A6
BMW 5 series

I'll probably keep the C for another year or so though.

tlbenzc350 02-16-2009 01:10 PM

Audi A6 would be my choice.

drevil2k2 02-16-2009 01:16 PM

+1 for the A5 - my second choice due to limited availability when deciding last fall.

+2 for Audi A5; to tell you the truth, if I had known how much money I would sink into the C350 on aftermarket parts I probably would have just gotten the C63. I was moving at the time and starting a new job and I was a little gun-shy about the larger price tag.

Rick Hunter 02-16-2009 02:58 PM

I must be an exception here, but... after a year and a bit I'm still very satisfied with the C. There's definitely some quirks about the car, but it suits everything I was looking for (a little more luxury over sport, and great looks).

Despite all the new cars coming out, I think I still would have stuck with the W204 if I had to make the choice today.

If that answer's not good enough... then gimme an A5. :y

micropower99 02-16-2009 04:08 PM

I by all means love my car I have now. Only reason I am thinking of trading it in is cause I like to change cars every couple years. :)

Aachen1989 02-16-2009 04:20 PM

A5 or BMW 335i coupe would be nice..

COR Forged 02-16-2009 04:27 PM

Alot of nice choices on here!! How about going for test drive in each and writing yourself a little review to see what might benefit you in couple years :)

Hope that helps!!

yooker 02-16-2009 04:33 PM

A Honda S2000.

The C is gone?! The pillars of our community are starting to crumble! ;)

Congrats on the CLK though, nice ride!

My other picks would be the 335xi or maybe the new A4.

AkaSigFreak 02-16-2009 06:16 PM

Still happy with my C but the Audi S5 is tops on my list. I love that car.

angeloxnet 02-16-2009 07:08 PM

i tried to trade in my car for a

07 BMW 335i couple, + premium, sport package + 19" M3 rims
but I was looking at $23,000 loss in just 8 months, so I decided to keep my car
