When it isn't so cold I wash the car myself but with it being winter here in the NE USA I have been bad and used a brushless car wash. I have also had the car detailed twice in the last year. Once when they redid the roof in my office building and white specs were all over my black car (they paid for it). And the second time was for my parents 50th anniversary party on 02/14 (hey my car had to look good). I can't wait till spring I picked up some DoDo juice products to try.

yea in the summer ill do it at home in the driveway...
in the winter i realized that the do it yourself coin operated car wash is the best...
3:00 for $3.00... can't go wrong... especially since the gas station is like $10 and you dont know how clean it'll be when it's done.

Mine is pretty dirty today from Sunday's snow. The good thing about Atlanta weather is snow on Sunday, almost 70 degrees on Wednesday...will be breaking out the bucket and getting to work on it then.
If I do get sap, leaves, exploded bugs or crap on it and can't wash at home, the touchless do it your self car washes are my choice.

i do it at home and would put my work up against any wash you would pay for. no one takes the time to do all the door sills, gas cap, trunk sills, etc...
plus its way cheaper. 80 bucks for all the supplies that will last forever vs 15-20 bucks a week for a wash

Totally agree, no one cleans my car as well as me. Unfortunatly when it is 20 out and the car is dirty you have to compromise. Can't drive a dirty car if the weather is good.

The last wash was at the dealer, and it stayed clean for all of about 4 days.

Might think about buying your own handled brush for this, just to use their water and soap if you like.

yea your right... i can't trust the soap brush... i try to stay awy from it or wash it before i use it on my car.
i usually do like a high pressure soap... then hig pressure wash... wax... then rinse.

well i park in my garage when i am not at work but unfortunately my baby is outside during the day, which i imagine isn't much better than the snow and ice - my clean car usually lasts 2-3 days mainly bc its black and i am extremely obsessive about it.
i do have a good windshield visor though, that is essential in my position especially with a pristine black interior, i am not trying to turn it into faded grey.

slightly off topic.
Did anyone buy the extra "paint sealant clear coat" after market add on when buying their benz? This was a hard sell option for us we didn't buy it, but the dealer was like "the paint won't last very well, no real clear coat on it and it rubs off quickly" etc. etc. I have had benz for decades now, and find a good wash and good waxing keeps them looking quite nice. But, the offer was "your car will continue to look the way it is for years to come, and if you don't it will most likely fade"
Has anyone bought into this stuff. ? it was $$ though.

Pressure washer, but only for their water. I bring my own brushes and cleaning compound.
1. Bring my own bucket of water and work at night when no line
2. Pressure wash water to remove any loose contaminants
3. Wash wheels with P21S, agitate dirt with Swissvax and Uber Boar's Hair wheel brush
4. Mix bucket of water with Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II and wash car body with microfiber towels
5. Pressure wash water to remove soap, always sheeting top down
6. Dry off with waffle towels
7. Clay, polish, wax as needed
