Small Accident in C350
Thought I would share a quick story that happened last week.
I was in a C350 sitting and traffic, and looked behind me and noticed a Honda Accord speeding to fast in the rear view mirror. I knew it was probably going to hit me, but not too fast. Next thing I know - thug!
I felt the shock and wasn't sure what to expect when I got out. I looked at the passenger headrest and noticed it has "deployed." Little did I know these things did that. That do not contact your head like Volvos do, but instead deploy in a rear impact to meet your head and prevent your neck from bending and becoming injured. The impact was probably 10mph or so.
Who would have thought that a safety feature could actually prevent injury at such a low speed crash. I was very impressed and this is why I pay a little more for Mercedes-Benz engineering.
The headrests were able to be placed back in their original position by pulling them and latching them from the back seat. The back of the car was not even damaged, including the paint.

I inspected from underneath and did not see any damage, and did feel the steel bumper support and inspect connecting points. The only thing it did to was unclip the rear air diffuser, which I popped back in place.

Since you were stationary, and have 2.5 mph impact bumpers, and the Accord has 2.5 mph bumper, you probably had a 5 mph collision, or the Accord has damage.
Nice to know the headrests can be pushed back into place.
Glad you're unhurt.

The paint on the Accord did indeed have spider webbed paint on its front bumper.
