Picked up my new C350 4Matic today - some notes
Hey guys - since I found this forum very helpful during my research phase for a new vehicle, I thought I would return the favor (in a small way) for those who are still shopping. A few observations from my new vehicle, which I just picked up this morning .
Bear in mind this is for a Canadian vehicle C350 4M with Premium package (there is only one level of P package for the 350 in Canada).
Mirrors - the subject of much discussion on this forum - my mirrors are not the new design. My build date is 02/09.
Retractable rear sunshade - has been deleted from premium package as of Jan/ Feb builds- my car did not come with it.
Parking assist (I think that's what it's called) - front and rear sensors and interior light and audible warning added to the premium package to replace the deleted sunshade. I think this is definitely added value to the vehicle as a substitute for the sunshade.
Keyless GO - really neat - pushbutton start, touch door handles to lock and unlock - yes, a bit of a gimmick but certainly a cool feature.
Bluetooth - my fairly basic Motorola W385 flip phone paired no problem. Connection quality is excellent. So far I haven't gotten around to downloading the address book, which I gather is where most compatibility problems appear.
At this point I won't comment much on the driving experience, as I have only driven it 4 km from the dealer straight home, but so far I love it. Been reading the manuals and fooling with the Command system for the last few hours.
Now I gotta go cruising...

Congratulations on the new ride. I'm curious as to when they are going to start putting the new mirrors on the 09's, as I'd like to hear if they've solved the wind noise issue.
I'm surprised that they removed the rear sunshade that is one of my favorite accessories.

Congrats on the new car! Good choice on the 350!
I'm also surprised the rear sunshade was deleted! It's pretty handy in the summer, especially if you don't have your windows tinted.

Park sensor is better option IMO. Sunshade is not always required. Park sensor is handy all the time.

Sounds somewhat similar to the C300 PP. Also gone from the old C300 PP (other than the sunshade) is SIRIUS. And the package is now $400CAD cheaper compared to $2,800 originally.
I like the old PP better, though, sunshade and satellite radio sound more "premium" comparing to PARKTRONIC which I think is strictly designed for oversized sedans with large turning radius, etc.
I did find a brand new Palladium Silver C300 4Matic (27KM) with exactly what I wanted, the old PP + Navi + Media Interface and will be picking it up in a few weeks time so I'm happy.

The new mirrors were supose to be introcuced in november procuction but got delayed.
Park tronic is a better option, but in my case I prefer rear sunshade, as i installed a rear view camera.

I'd say Parktronic and rear cam complement each other. One look at stright back while the other covers the corners.
Hate to see rear sunshade go but Parktronic is the more practical option.

Sorry, I didn't ask if it was still available as a separate option. Check with your sales rep. The change to Parktronic from rear sunshade apparently came as a surprise to my sales rep - he first saw the change on the vehicles that arrived in late March.

There wasn't an option for the sunshade on the C300 when I got mine. That's why I got the older stock with the old PP. But double check to make sure. The salesperson told me that the change has been in place since January, the same time that Navi is available as a factory option on the C230 here.

I'm planning on getting a 2010 anyway, so maybe they'll change somethings around by then.

My car came in march and mine came with the old mirrors. They are slightly bigger in size. Also I do like these better as I have seen the ones on the GLK at the dealer and don't like them. These chrome top of these mirrors match the look of the eye lids which I think they look much better on a darker car.
