Anybody Switching to a New E-Coupe?

I happened to eyeball the new E-Coupe on the showroom today. Quite a nice ride indeed at a reasonable price.

Just wondering if anyone in the forum has taken a test drive in it already and what their findings are. :)

Would you trade your W204 for a new E-Coupe? :naughty:

would love to, but gotta keep digging for oil under my house first

C300S 6MT 07-22-2009 10:49 PM

not yet, i'm still enjoying my ride...

It is a stunning looking car, but out of my budget especially when you add up the options.
Like others here I still love my C.

:word: Spoke to my dealer the other day and he said the coupes are leasing for $1200 a month

Saw one other day going opposite direction. Not sure what model it was but the LED DRL's were friggin awesome!!!!!

I got a few shots with my phone last week when I was getting my C serviced. The coupe is an E550 with the Launch Edition package in Olivine. It is sweet. I have to say, I like the dual round fogs better than the L shaped ones. The MSRP is around $64,000 for this one. I really like the wheels. They are charcoal. They look like the C350 wheels, but in 18". It would be nice if the offset is the same as the C. I didn't bother to ask. I love it. Even the sedan is nice looking. I'll consider one when I am ready to move on.

It's a gorgeous car, the LED fogs look very cool on the road but parked, the dual fogs look aesthetically better.

It's a little more pricier than my C, and like others .. I still can't believe how much I love the C!

I would love to get the E coupe. It's an amazing car.
But for now, those charcoal 18" AMG wheels would be great :D

The new E coupe is a great looking machine, it stands out. We saw one at Mortons and it was parked up front. Based on a new body the price didn't seem to go up much.. It will be interesting to see what the convertible looks like when it's introduced. Any spy shots anywhere?

What also impressed me is the attention to detail inside the car.
The stitching on the seats, dash layout, panorama roof, etc. You have to check it out yourself to appreciate it. :y

still dont think i could justify the cost considering it is the same chassis as the C class, just with 2 doors and a few extra toys. the look is slowly growing on me but like the new E sedan the rear just says Accord to me.

I saw the new E on the road a couple days ago.. it looked better in person than the photos. really nice car but it reminds me a lot of our C class

Immediately!

If all goes well i'll be switching to the E in 2 years time. Patience....

I looked at one yesterday too. At first I was intrigued by it. Then I got inside and noticed the interior (center console, shifter, cup holders, storage etc) were the same as the C. The sedan was completely different, but the coupe was the same. I did love the seats though. I would wait for the CLK to return in 2011:D

It's a pretty sweet car but for the money I would have to go with the A5. If you need to carry people in the back, the E trumps the A with more room and that sweet lack of a B pillar.
Who knows, by the time I am ready to trade, The mid cycle refresh will likely be here and we will see...

Agreed. I still think the A5 is one of the best looking cars on the road

And that brand never had the acceleration lag issue.

not a fan of the handle-bar mustache LED DRLs -- they look too small and out of place.

I actually like the look of the stock quad fog/DRL lights, kind of Brabus-like, and also the chin spoiler looks edgier, more aggresive:

I test drove a A5 and thought that it was Ok, just OK. We test drove a 335 Coupe and felt that it was too small. There was really no room in the back. Then we went to see the roll out of the E Coupe. Loved it! Really loved the lines of the car. We test drove it 3 different times and still loved it. Thought that the interior was just beautiful with the stitching, et al. We shopped at a few dealers and ended up buying one this week! Should have the car in another week.

That's great! Congrats! Can you post some picks of the stitching everone is talking about. How much bigger is it than the C? I don't really need or want a bigger car than my C but I love the lines of the E coupe.

It's almost a foot or so bigger when I compared them in the showroom. The double stitching is just drool worthy. You have to see it in person. Saying that it's still too big for my current situation.
