Do I have to ask Bodyshop to paint .....?

I need your advice on this issue.

I got an accident last month so my baby's got a new fender.

While washing it (actually engine room), I found the paint of some volts fastening the fender was scratched off. I am concerned that they would later bring rust.

Do I have to ask them to paint those volts? This was the first accident requiring paint job for me...

Thank you for any comment.

If you're referring to fender bolts, yes, have the body shop paint and clear the bolts.

This is the first thing I check when looking for evidence of paint/body work on a used car. Signs of scratches or chipping on fender bolts is typically a dead giveaway as most volume body shops do not take the time to address such small details.

To your point, having them repainted will prevent rust. It will also improve aesthetics of the engine bay and could mitigate questions/concerns if you ever desire to resell the car.
