burnt first major mods - part #1
hey fellaz.... just want to share what i did with my ride...this post is basically just for laugh and gigles...:rolf::naughty: before i start, its only right to thanks those who came before me and all those who were helpful...:bow::y:y... my setup was to do a stock y-pipe dual tips exhaust cause its the cheapest route for me.....i did these mods like 2 months ago....
stock tips $66 x 2 = $132 cf diffuser $289 = $289 c63 brackets $22 x 2 = $44 x-pipe = $83 air filters $45 x 2 = $90 custom y-pipe and labor = $107 grand total of $745 i went a little further than other members by deleting the cat converter.... it might be a bad idea but it kinda gave me the sound i was kinda looking for... i also place the x-pipe up a little further than what i wanted...:nix: http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000019.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000022.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000030.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000036.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000031.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000051.jpg disclaimer: i think my labor cost is the cheapest in the forum...however, that doesn't mean that it has the best quality of workmanship...due to where i live (farm country) or surround areas, it is really hard to even find someone who can even do these...i have to drive an 1 hour away for this mods.. my overall experience is that i would give it B+, given my remote location, price, and quality of work.... this is just part 1 so look for part 2... i will post pics and video of my mods in the next thread cause this one will be too big of a file! All inputs and light crictism are welcome...:D:D:y:y |
burnt first major mods - part #2
here are the pics (contine from part 1).... i would be the first one who would say the tips are just a little off but overall i am very happy with it given the price...
http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000052.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000059.jpg http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/t...l/P1000064.jpg now, here is what it sound like...the highest i went was 6-61/2 rpm.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUReyIreakg now, when i did the listed modifications, i did lose some torque and power.. here are videos i shot.... i didn't do this to be stupid but maybe it might help somebody out if they ran into the same trouble... it was really for learning purposes... 2 days after my installation, i did a test run.. i floored it but it didn't go anywhere..felt like a c300 (no offense to anyone).. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APTLWPdvVJ4 3-5 days later, i did another test run... this time as u can tell, my car kinda regain its power back after trying to reset the ECU... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW8_OhSQZvo i been on vacation since then (just been back like a week ago) and now, the car seem to be regaining 95%-100% torque and horsepower... don't know :nix::nix:.....maybe its in my head:smash::smash: but i am glad its gotten better and actually i think, it has even pull a little better when i am pressing the gas than before...i notice the lag time has decrease due the lost of back pressure and maybe where i placed the x-pipe...:nix: well, fellaz, here u have it... that is my mb experience... its basically a trail and error thing.... this is my first euro car and as i learn, its really differnt than domestic cars with parts and etc...i think i was too trigger happy and rushed everything... i wish i found out about this forum before i went it on my own... all feedback welcome guyz and girlz....:y:y:y:y |
looks great, sounds awesome too.
Wher'd you pick it up from? |
Good job. You could probably hammer the hangers to bring the tips up a bit more so the gap between the diffuser and tips aren't as large. Overall, great job for the price! :y

Kind of is offensive, being that the c350 is far from a sports car, you make the 300's sound like kia's

:D:D like i said, all input welcome:y...ehheh..well, its not that i think a c300 is slow... since we are all mb riderz, a c300 is the closest thing to a c350... there's only little difference in hp between the two so when i lost some torque and horsepower, it was an easy comparsion to make...:zoom::zoom: |

That's the only way to adjust tip height without modifying the pipes themselves. The hanger right at the end. All you gotta do is hammer the hanger on the car side, bending it higher, then hook the muffler to the higher mount point. :y

Car sounds really nice. And right now the car feels funny because it either running to rich or to lean. not to worry in about 100 or so miles the ecu will adapt and reconfigure the fuel mixtures and the car is gonna feel hella fast. just drive it easy, so the computer can figure everything out.
