I recently leased a 2010 c350 with P2, pano, MM, and more. I was told the MM came with H/K audio system, however I looked it up and found that in 2010 the MM package does NOT come with H/K system. I love my music, so as you can imagine, I am disappointed. However there is some pretty good bass, and i have a grate behind my rear seats. So i am curious what are the tell tale signs of the H/K system?

Also, do you think if i got some subs in the back I would forget all about it?

They no longer include HK in the 2010 model year in the MM package. I wouldn't say subs would make your audio sound better. Perhaps a better amp? And then maybe you could toss in a sub or two.

True, its funny, the sound quality is actually very good. To where i thought i had the HK system. But then i read further and found out i didnt. I guess my next question would be, how much better is that H/K system? The dealer specifically told me that my vehicle had it, but he was still in 2009 mode where the HK came with the MM.

What a bummer! but again, good news is the 8 speaker system is still pretty nice.

You think if i upgrade the door speakers i will be satisfied?

My sister actually has the non-MM 2008 C350 (w/o HK) while I have a 2009 C350 with HK. I honestly can't say that there's a HUGE difference. Her bass is still as boomy as ever, and music sounds pretty damn good, whether it be modern Hip Hop/R&B to acoustic/classical. The only thing I DON'T like about my HK is that even at stock settings, I find the Bass to be too loud, which is why I turn it down. And I'm under the age of 25. I'm not an oldie, but I still find the bass to be a bit high. Treble's about the same. Honestly my guess is that the frequency response in the HK system is about 5hz-15hz to 25khz-30khz, while the regular 8 speaker system is about 25hz to 25khz. Sure the lows are noticeable, but at about 20khz, the human ear can't perceive any noticeable difference. I guess it's the Logic7 3D settings that may or may not change it up for the user.

If you have the HK speakers you will see written on the speaker covers "Harman Kardon".

Yeah that is what tipped me off to the fact that i didn't have it. Like Snarlingchicken said, the sound is pretty good, when i hook up ipod, or CD it gets pretty loud, but Sirius i cant seem to get loud enough; this may be a broadcasting issue though as opposed to stereo.

I am going to contact the dealer and tell them that i do not have it, even though they said i was getting it, and just see what they say. Its really not the end of the world, but Music and sunroof are my biggest priorities. This car is the nicest i have ever owned, so i don't want to seem like i'm complaining, it just came to light and I am addressing the issue.

Got to drive a 2009 with H/K system, and I have to say with the LOGIC ON, the sound is so much better than my 2010 with P2. Very disappointing =\

so get this.. The dealer faxed me the specs on the car, and it says I have a H/K Logic 7 Amplifier. So could it be that I have the amp, and everything else, just missing the speakers themselves?

Who knows what the dealer is giving you.

I will say I had a loaner car with MM and no H/K, and I thought it sounded better than my car that is no H/K, but no MM too, so maybe the multimedia does give you a better amp, but who knows.

I'd suggest running your VIN yourself with Star Tek and seeing exactly what is in your car. You could also look at your window sticker.

You can also write or email the corporate office at MBUSA and tell them this dealer gave you false information.

Obviously, there isn't a lot that can be done now, sadly.

You'll have to enjoy it as is probably.

It is sad that they told you this, and then it didn't have it. That is a bummer, don't know what else to say, but that it sounds like you have an amazing car as it is right now.
