Reverse Camera with Guide Lines - Aussie
Hi People,
I haven't been to this page for a coupe of months and I sold my C300 late last year, In Jan I took delivery of a C63 Coupe. I posted this on the AMG Page and was hoping i could get some feedback.
My Aussie 2012 Coupe has Reverse Camera but no guide lines. I was at the dealers the other day and they asked if I love my car and I told them I love it but I wish it had 2 things..
Height adjustable Seat Belts (My Sedan did.. Good for young kids and me when i'm wearing a TShirt) and Guide Lines for Reverse Camera as my wife's ML350 has them. He said the reverse camera guides are not available on C Class. I left it at that.
I was looking in my Owners Manual and I found it. Page 187 - " Guide Lines in the Comand Online display. Depending on the date of mfg of the vehicle, the guide lines are shown on the display.
I emailed the dealer a copy of this and they advised " No one I am speaking to has heard of guide lines on c class. It has been suggested that it is for overseas models.
Ok..... Non Aussies do you have Guide Lines?
IF not has anyone been able to turn this feature on via Engineering Menu? If so how did you do it?
Cheers
Marty

From what I understand, they are not available anywhere in the world on the C Class.
That said, this is something that may hopefully come in a later software update. You should email MB of Australia and suggest that... I've suggested it through Generationbenz myself.

How exactly do you switch pages? I noticed page 1/4 on the top but couldn't seem to figure out how to get to the next page

Must be and Aussie 2012 C Class Thing.
I followed your steps up to HU Parameters but I have 10 pages not
4 like yours. Found Reverse Camera on page 3/10 no 21 get to SRVC but no option SRVC Guide Line, even when to click on this gives me other 3 other Letter options other than SRVC. Didn't want to click of those as it's getting late at night.
Anyone able to get it to work on their 2012 C?
I know it works on other models we have it on our ML at home.
Thanks
Marty

How do I get to the engineering setup pages?
I have an aftermarket cam, Kenwood CMOS-200.
Will I still be able to turn on the guide lines?

I followed this and when I shift to reverse, the backup cam doesn't turn on......I still have to play with it a little more but don't want to mess around with other settings I don't know about.

The screen shot you provided was for the HU parameter to enable the rear view camera. There may be another one to enable the SRVC Guidelines. For my 2012 GLK350 it was option 25.

This is an old thread that came up in a google search I did. It is likely you need a DAS 2010 with DAS developer enabled. Once you go in, you should be able to get to the menu below and enable the CAN ID 34 to get your lines … I managed to enable mine
Here is the menu. The CAN ID 34 needs to be turned on and the SRVC static guiding lines need to be set.

you would be able to see the guide lines... However, if you have an aftermarket camera, then you need to make sure that the focal length/distorsion is the same than the OEM camera. If not, the guide lines will not match the actual size of the car.

Mine's a 2011 facelift UK model with a £20 Chinese camera that I fitted my self into COMAND. The lines must be embedded into the camera because there's no option in the menu for them. Incidently the lines are solid blue unlike the green/yellow/red that I've seen on other cars. It does show the MB warning "Check Entire Surroundings" though.
