Exclamation My H&R Springs

So I just put new H&R Sport springs on Wednesday and I don't see any drop at all, do I have to give it time or what is it?

My understanding is that it could take a couple weeks to settle. Odd that you notice NO drop at all though.. Did you measure your fender height before & after or are you just not noticing a drop? Could be subtle until they settle.

Did you install them yourself?

I still have my 17" stock tires on and I measured the same day when i drop it off and 2 fingers were able to fit in between the tire and the fender and i just measured today again and 2 fingers fit in exactly the way before I dropped it off

Sport or SuperSport?

I have a feeling that the sport springs don't provide much of a drop . . . Did the shop swap out the rear pads for 5mm ones?

There's the slim possibility that they didn't swap your original springs, but that I highly doubt.

The guy at the shop told me that it was not necessary so I didn't swap the pads. I also asked one of the members here on the forums and he said that there was pretty much no difference if i changed the rear pads. I have already put 200 miles on this springs cause I drove to PA yesterday. So im gonna wait couple more hundred miles and see if there is any difference. Sometimes I think I should of went with the SuperSports

Let us know if you see a difference.

I have a 2 finger gap as of right now and a set of sport springs waiting to be installed, but judging by your experience I might part with the sport springs and invest in the super sports.

Stock! I'm still debating between the Eibach set or the H&R coilovers. I'm not looking for anything more than a mild drop...

But alex I was told by AZN_C300 and by tirerack that is not good to go with the supersports cause our cars are 4matic and we need to have the same level drop in the front and rear and later on you will have problems with your suspension. For sure after I put 300 to 400 more miles on this springs ill let you guys know if there is any difference.

the shop that put on my HR sports told me that apparently the spring pads i had on originally was the same as the 5 mm ones i got.. but mine still dropped from two fingers to one, and a tiny bit more after it settled.

Did you provide them with the springs and did you get your old springs back? maybe take a picture?

This doesnt sound rite.. with sports you should notice a drop rite away, and after they settle it will lower a tiny bit more.. and who ever told you 5mm pads dont make a difference dont know what there talking about.. when you go from a stock 13mm pad to a 5mm pad.. thats a .3" drop just by swapping the pad..

2009 c300 sport 4 matic
A fellow I know with the same car [ sport ] he told me he was going to put H&R Sport springs on, I didn`t see him for a while and when I did I asked when he was going to put the springs on, he replied he did and said he didn`t see much difference so we measured both our cars, my front was 25 1/4 and rear was 26, his 25 1/8 and 25 3/4,[ We were being a little generous his rear was a little more than 25 3/4] I could tell NO difference between my car and his, he couldn`t either.

To me the H&R sports drop isn`t worth it, I was going to do it for LOOKS only our Sports handle good already. Now the Super sport spring drop looks good but I have this feeling it will ruin the ride to much for me, it`s not a good trade off IMHO.

Theres a lot of unintended misinformation on the forums I think everyone should post their measurements before and after so people could decide if it`s worth it or not. I know of no one close to me that has H&R SS and before I do anything I`ll drive it first because the reports on ride here are far from clear as to the negative effects on ride.

qwqwerertyty I provided them with the springs and I did get my old springs back and can you take a picture of your car so we can see how much of a drop you got?

bigigg I was told by the shop that install the springs and by...its-low...from the forums that there is really no difference in switching the pads, that it really depends how your spring settle, bigigg can you provide us with a picture of your car so we can see hwo much it drop?

Jcash60 I was gonna get the supersports but after doing alot of research and recommended by people from the forums I went with the sport instead of the supersports cause I was told that it ruins the ride of the car and that later on you might have problems with the suspension of your car since is not an even drop and that the 4-matic needs to have an even drop.

Now guys I also wanna tell you this last night i went out and I parked in this lot where there was 4 C300 Sport 4-Matic parked in the same lot and so I decided to go around to all 4 vehicles and measure the difference lol...On all the other 4 vehicles I was able to stick close to 2 1/2 fingers in the front and rear and when i tried it on my car now it was not really letting stick 2 fingers anymore so I don't know if it is actually starting to settle or what's going but Im gonna give it another try today so I that can compare it

4matics are lower from the factory than RWD. Are sport springs the same product number for RWD and 4matic. If they are then thats why you don't notice a difference. The drop of the 4matic from the factory is about the height that the sports drop the RWDs.

RWD and 4matic uses totally different springs by virtue of their dissimilar suspension

First off all I was talking about the aftermarket springs part numbers. Second of all, all I'm saying is that there is only one part number for c300 sport springs. Same coils are used for AWD and RWD.

What chart did you see? I only saw the one that shows 350 4matic uses a different spring set but all 300s use the same part number. Or did the OP order the wrong sport springs as they will all fit on all W204s.

That sounds really strange. So you didn't measure any drop even on the rears?
It might be hard to tell from these pics but mine dropped 1/2 finger front, 1 finger rear.
Maybe you can take off one of the wheels and see if they're the right springs, just to be sure? It doesn't take that long anyway

^ Kinda supports my point that 4matics are already lower from the factory.

For what ever it's worth, I went out and measured my cars height from the ground up to the highest spot on the fenders front and back. It's tricky but if you take your time and use a level you can get a fairly good measurement.

My '08 C350 has stock springs, C63 wheels and new F1 Asymmetric tires in stock tire sizes.

Front fender: 65.3cm
Rear fender: 65.7cm

I'm probably going to do the Eibach set w/o rear pad replacement since I want a level drop to keep the dynamics of the car the same.

Which stock tire sizes do you have. C63 an c3x0 have different stock front tire sizes.
