New Carbon Fiber Diffuser w/ fins for the c300/350 dual exhaust! Who's interested?
#27
Thanks for the interest guys!! What do you guys mean by DTM style fins? You don't want fins straight down like Eurotecks but fins curved in? We would only be able to make one variation of it and we will start production only after we receive our first shipment for the C63 which we will receive in a little over a month. It will be a long process but the end result should be worth the wait! Keep the comments coming and let me know of anyone else interested or any other products we could make for the C Class!
haha i understand the confusion...
The thing is that.. imagine that there are 2 parts to this..the DTM fins and the diffuser part...
DTM fins in the euroteck diffuser look that they are kind of added to an OEM 300/350 diffuser... ok? it's basically the stock diffuser with 3 slats.. and that's what we don't like...
The DTM fins you guys DO are PERFECT... leave as they are.. or make 'em bigger if u want (Clk Black if you guys like) ... but what we are saying is ...
Imagine the C63 without the little fins ... just the BARE diffuser... that diffuser is curved towards the lower part of the car in the middle.. that's what we want.. basically the same diffuser as the C63.. but with BIG FINS and just 2 openings for out tails
I hope you guys can understand me ... if not i'm gonna have to start drawing diffusers and sending them to you haha! ...
although maybe that could be a good idea.. but i thing you guys can understand what i wrote ...
please PM me anything ... looking foward to this !

Err. Bulletspec. Those aren't DTM fins. They're just fins. DTM fins are a LOT more...well. Square. Haha. So basically what you want to say in simplified terms is make one like JL-Motoring's. But to just add fins from a C63 diffuser I assume? Lets not get those fins confused with DTM fins now.
I don't think you want a diffuser like this http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog...._dtm_hi_06.jpg on the back of your W204. Well. Maybe you do. Idk :3

YES!... the one from SpecDavis is perfect, that's what i mean... if the fins can be bigger, the better!... but not exagerated .. we know,as a group, that it has to look a little bit flushed and not over the top.. something agressive but yet as classy/elegant as our cars..
SNarling chicken ... HELL NO!... lol ... those from the mercedes DTM, the EXTRA HUGE fins no!...that looks like chopped cardboard shoved into a diffuser! ... i was meaning DTM as in the fins they did in a previous car...the one's they (mcd motorsport) call their (large fins) dtm fins..

Haha my bad, I saw the other post about the CF trunk spoiler molding that showed pics of HK license plates so I made an incorrect assumption. Hope you guys are still planning on this diffuser though!

Hey guys, just a quick update. We will go into making the diffuser but it will take a few months. We just made this C63 diffuser and would make the same one for the C300/350 with dual exhaust instead of quad. What do you guys think? How many people would be in?

Hmm, not bad looking at all. It's hard to gauge how it will look with a dual exhaust setup thought. Are you going to stick with three grooves more spaced out or add in a fourth?
Any idea on the price?

I'm IN!!! exactly what i was saying .....

rs, about a dozen other vendors already have quad diffusers for sale. You could check those out. MCD is just making a special exception for us who do not want to/cannot get quads for our cars. And they JUST said that they made that quad version.....so...Huh?

What do you guys think? Add another fin or space out the 3 fins to make up for the room? If we could get a list going of who is interested that would be great. The price is going to be around $500.

In my opinion, the exhaust openings for your non-C63 diffuser should be a little flat at the top with a lip around the openings like the C63 diffuser. The lip is not necessary though. Anyway, keep the size of the openings similar to the OE non-C63 diffuser. I believe it would be nice for those who will keep their stock exhaust tips (which are somewhat flat on top) and nice for those who may want to install an aftermarket exhaust such as the Brabus or a custom quad tip design that is not like the C63.
