C350 - Twin turbos? Electronic/Software upgrades for peak torque before 3k rpm?
Hey guys,
Was wondering if there's anyone who has information regarding twin turbo/supercharg-ing a C350? Really keen to see how that fairs. With Kleemann on the 3500 cc N/A V6, it's about 350++ bhp (I'm not sure, Kleemann's website t/o when I tried to access it), but with twin turbos...wow...600++bhp? :D Also, does anyone know electronic/software upgrades for the C350, cuz it's max torque only comes in after 3000 rpm, is there anyway to make it peak faster? Cheers! Regards, Ghostbusters |

Cheers! Regards, Ghostbusters I'm pretty sure Kleemann has cancelled their supercharger plans for the W204. There is no room in the engine bay for a turbo setup. The driveline can only handle about 350-375HP before you're outside the spec of the transmission, drive shaft and differential. 600HP would be fun, only until you put it in gear and hit the gas! Most of the TQ is available around 2500RPM on the 350 which is about the best you're probably going to be able to do unless you start replacing the internals. |
Darn! Was hoping that Kleemann would come up with something more spectacular. Oh well, hahaha! :naughty:. The C350 is still a nice ride, though I would love it to be supercharged, at least...:X
Thanks so much for the quick reply! :y |

Everything that you said plus the engine compression would need to be lowered on the C350 and even more on the C300.
Aren't there palns for a twin turbo W204 coupe? I asked Mercedes about that last week, and they said it was being kicked around for 2014.. and that depends on how the market fares. |
There is a Turbo W204 E35 that is pushing 350whp :y

@ Karo
Where? |
Wrong car to start as a base - you'd do better ot start with a 2008 335i - comparable to size an weight and already has twin turbos...
|
I'm pretty certain that MB mentioned that the new 3.5 V6 (debuting soon, hopefully by 2012) would be turbocharged (or at least have some room for an aftermarket turbo to be installed).
http://www.caradvice.com.au/67013/me...pecifications/ "Despite being naturally aspirated, the German company says it was built using a modular design, hence it can be configured with turbochargers for future use" Oh yes... :D |

Yes, I know, tune for tune, the 335i WILL spank the C350, but that's not the point! It's meant to be a sleeper! You don't get much heavily modded C350 nowadays (most youngsters turn their attention to the Beemer, which makes it less "exclusive" IMO) |

Wrong car to start off with??? :smash: |
At what cost? Seriously, you're trying to make a car do something that it wasn't intended to do - it's going to get expensive quick. Did you see that guys dash light up in the video? That was awesome! I wonder how many shop hrs it took to get the ECM to settle down, if ever. You seem like a man of unlimited wealth, I encourage you to post pictures of your project or just keep on posting about what you're going to do. Good luck to you and best wishes.

A 335i with JB3 makes 337 rwhp and 361 rwtq. The guy with the turbo W204 claims he made 350whp and 370wtq.

I'm sure that by smaller engine you're referring to the 4 cylinders mr inkerdibul? It's already turbocharged (replacing the S/C in previous engines). If you could refer to my earlier post, MB did mention the idea of having the new V6 turbocharged.

w204 will get a turbo for the smaller engine. the 300hp v6 will still be NA.
From what i remember the SL350 has around 310hp and 270tq. This was around the same time they introduced the W204. I'm surprised they never included these in the W204 :nix: |
Here is the article I was referring to...
http://www.leftlanenews.com/more-det...ass-coupe.html And it was definitely edited because I posted it awhile back and was surprised that the base was going to be turbo-ed instead of the one taking on the 135. They must have accidentally wrote the wrong thing. Anyhow Karo you seem to be right |

They still mention the 3.5 which to me doesn't make sense but maybe it will have better power? but they had those on the SL350?? Maybe not as high compression? Who knows. http://carguideblog.com/4705/mercede...to-production/ |

The new 3.5L V6 will not be released in Conus, too much sulfur in the fuel. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I own a Mercedes, not a Bimmer. I think the kind of car you drive says something, or rather makes a statement. If you want to tune a Benz, well that just means you have a need for higher performance. Plus on a side note, turbo charging adds other benefits as well. Everybody in California owns a freakin BMW. Its like the Honda Civic of Colorado.(Hence why I dont have one, or ever will) |

I never said they werent great cars. Just too common for my taste. For every 1000 bimmers I see, I only see 1 Benz. Unique.
