C-Class Coupe Breaks Cover

http://www.leftlanenews.com/mercedes...s-coupe-2.html

Surprised no one posted this yet..if it has been, I apologize.

At first glance I thought it was bland/disappointing..but after giving it a good look I think I like it. The camo is hiding some of the details and the pics are deceiving.

..odd they kept the sedan's rear end though.

kevinwithdabenz 07-09-2010 12:30 PM

looks kinda weird to me, kinda looks like a mustang from the read side angle but thats me, idk. lol

SGTzAMG 07-09-2010 12:31 PM

YES! finally a Coupe thats not actually a damn Hatchback :/
with much more aggressive wheels, and with the AMG bodykit, i think that coupe would look HOT!

Couldn't agree more! This could be interesting...

joshg1001 07-09-2010 02:33 PM

interesting. it needs pillarless windows though

morph860 07-09-2010 02:42 PM

Looks too big for a coupe, but def good competition for the Audi A5.

I had a 2002 c230 coupe, loved it. Stop trashing hatchbacks haha. :X

envyxc350 07-09-2010 03:08 PM

Looks like a mustang from the rear, and the car in total looks way to bulky, 3series still holds the title for best coupe.

My 1st reaction as well! SOOOO glad MB got smart and went away from the hatchback look for this coupe! Can't wait to see how it'll look with the camo covering and some nice looking rims

:y

The July 1 issue of Auto motor und Sport from Stuttgart shows the undisguised production version on the road, front and rear and it is bland, very bland. Maybe it's the silver paint that kills it, I dunno. They say introduction date will be March 2011 with the facelifted C (picture) in January. Looks like both models are the same ahead of the A-post with reshaped headlight assemblies.

i agree, and am also hoping for the best. The nose is clearly camouflaged with cladding, and it appears that the side is as well, possible extending over the C-pillar giving it that Mustang look as previously posted.

I think this car is fugly, and I hope it's it's due to a great disguise.

Looks like a Chevy Cobalt coupe with a tall engine hood... Give it a spoiler and the illusion will be complete! (bleh.....)

Sportstick 07-11-2010 09:22 AM

You know someone will want to know where to find that taillamp blackout kit, and then someone else will ask for it in CF!!!! :rolf:

I find it funny how you can slam the styling of the car when, with exception of the rear quarter window, this is our car...why did you buy yours?? Should they borrow the hooffeenzemierstererreer kink from BMW?

C300Kid 07-11-2010 01:45 PM

Though it doesn't look like it..this car still has a lot of camo. Basically all the lines are hidden. I can assure you it won't look like a Mustang or Cobalt.

I think the W204 styling will look awesome as a coupe.

Don't forget the group buy.

You sure it's not a chop? I've looked everywhere and can't find any actual pics of a production facelifted C-Class.

If pics have already been published you'd think they'd be online somewhere.

supacrazykev 07-12-2010 12:55 AM

So far it looks better than the w203 coupes. Looks great, but I like E coupe better.

RLE 07-12-2010 05:35 PM

Looks like what?

I can see that you have never seen one of those godawful Cobalts. They look like a Neon with their ass end a mile high.

No wonder GM can't sell their crap.

whiteongrey 07-12-2010 05:38 PM

Saw one on the street in Feb, Sao Paulo, Brazil: looks fine in real life on the road. Pics do not do this car justice.

They did a much bettet job with the Cruze...they just butchered the name and not the car this time around...

The Cobalt sells very well, and it's not a terrible vehicle. What do you expect from a $15k car?

As C300Sport said, the Cruze does look much better..although the new Focus will destroy all competition imo.

Derspeed 07-13-2010 07:18 PM

I like it. I hope there are plans for worthy forced induction.

Never underestimate the bad taste of the car buying public.

Oh trust me I don't..the fact that the Camry is a best-seller proves that.

Don't get me wrong, the Cobalt is unimpressive..but considering it's at the end of it's life-cycle I think it's aged relatively well. I don't think the recently "all-new" Corolla is much better.
