What do you mean the crappy ones that start out 8000k but quickly turn purple? Are you talking about your first special order group buy, or were they not manufactured by your guys?

Those were from the original GB from xenon kungen way back that turned out to be the same Blesk ones from Korea. My new ones are better than those, keeping constant kelvin rating, handling the voltage shift in our 204s.

AZN, when your HID kits will be available, do you have to remove the headlight housing to install them or can you install them without taking anything apart?

I've already had Vic55's Blood Clot 996 fitted with these LEDs so they work fine on P-cars

I knew I wasn't going crazy! Haha, I thought it was my tint lamin-x on my headlights that was making it look purple, it probably didn't help, lol. If I were to take them out of my headlights and put them in the feet and vanity, would they fit (front driver and passenger footwells and in the top lights when you pull down the sun visors? If so I might get 3 sets of 8000k... Pm price?

They will fit in your footwell and interior trunk, as well as rear plates. I've heard conflicting reports regarding the dome where some said it wouldn't fit, and some said it does fit.

Payment and pricing info are in the first post

Touche`, haha. I haven't ordered besides the group buy. But I'm not talking about the dome lights, I am going to leave my Polargs in there for now. I am talking about the vanity light (when you pull down the visor/mirror on the roof. It appears that it would be the same size as the footwell lights and the one in the trunk. I just want to make sure before I order.

That one I have no idea about. Haven't popped mine open to take a look. I believe it is the same 194 bulb, but it's just a matter of clearance.

Ok, lol. I think I will go out to my car and use my extra pack of 6000k LED from you to see if they fit. I would hate ordering them to have another set just sit vacant in the center console. Haha. BTW, did the 6000k original GB led suffer from this "voltage shift" too? I find that the 6000k I have over my license plates are surprisingly blue - perfect for what I was looking for.

Would the 8000k LEDs look tacky with CrystalVisions? I was planning on waiting until AZN's HID kits become available and get 55w 8000k HIDs (side question: are the 8000k LEDs closer in color to 35w HIDs or the 55w of the same color temperature, since the 55w would wash some of the color out?), but one of my stock halogens burned out last week so I bought a pair of CV's from a local store since I didn't want to be driving without one low beam. Now I would feel bad if I spent almost 40 bucks for something that I'll use for only a month, though HIDs are part of my long term plans regardless.

Probably wouldn't look too bad because the CV's have a bit of yellow in them, so I would be a contrast... I have the CV's with the 5000k's now, and it looks alright...

Pretty much all the group buys I hosted in the past while we were testing out various vendors all suffered from the shifting color. That's why this is why I had to eventually work with the manufacturer to create these that can handle the voltage range on our 204s.

Really depends on your view of tacky Some like contrast, but if you're looking for color matching, 8000K LEDs and Crystal Visions won't match. Honestly, I'd rather see you hold off on purchasing LEDs from me till you get your 8000K HIDs as you'll get a better impression of your front end setup doing it all correctly instead of half and half.

even with the caution and extra space..it melts

How's it going AZN...
i bought two LED sets from you last year...i think on december 3rd.
it's been about two months now....
after work, i got home and one of the LED wouldn't turn off for some odd reason.
i took it out after it was cooled for about an hour.
and i found this.

as you can see on the first picture
the white bar is barely hanging on only one side
and second picture
the two white bars are bit burned...or browning...

i've read your caution about how you're not suppose to push in all the way due to the heat
i've taken caution not to push in all the way, but pulling the LED....but it still melted.

any chance of replacement? or do i have to buy another one from you?

Browning is normal, but when you have component separation, the only way the unit could heat up to the point where the solder is compromised is if contact was made between the voltage gripper plate and the resistor. Typical life of LEDs in that situation is 1-3 months. Even if it is plugged in correctly, always chance of it getting pushed in accidently when inserting back into housing. I've seen the component diagram and did the math dragging out all my electrical engineer knowledge and they should in no way reach temps high enough to cause issue under normal circumstances.

That said, as with anything manufactured, you occasionally get components that might fall out of spec which could cause any number of issues. That's why I offer warranty

I'll shoot you a replacement tomorrow morning.

Pro Tip:

As an extra indicator for those of you installing....take your LED, plug it in too far intentionally. Turn it on for a couple seconds, then turn it off. Feel the LED. It'll be scorching hot. Now take it out, let it cool off, then plug it in correctly. Turn it on for a couple seconds, then turn off. Feel it again. It should be noticeably cooler, still not, but not as hot. You now know by touch what the normal operating temps should be. If it still feels the same scorching hot, then guess what... what you thought was correct insertion turns out to not be and you just saved yourself from problems in the future. Pull it out a couple more mm.

Mike, any chance of your people reverse engineering something like these below?

Damn, I'm trying to get normal front turn signals to work first before I tackle anything like this lol.
