I just returned to the US after 4+years and bought a 2009 C300 couple of weeks ago. I like it so far.

Couple of things I'd like to change and wondering if it was possible:

1. Center console ashtray -- is there a delete option? If I pull the tray out, the space becomes big enough for my garage remote, but I'd like to give it a finished look.

2. Can I retrofit autodimming inside rear view mirror with homelink buttons?

After reading through the manual I finally found the way to reprogram the remote to open only the driver door with one click and rest with 2. But, when the doors unlock after stopping it appears to unlock all doors at once. Is this changeable?

i replaced the ash try with a concealed V1 detector. only thing is its really hard to hide the wiring, i havent drilled any holes .. well bc idk where to drill it =/

I retrofitted the autodimming rear view mirror. All the wiring is in place, so you don't need to splice wires or add any harnesses. The hardest part is finding one for a reasonable price; I believe that the dealer price on the mirror is around $700. I kept an eye on eBay for a good month or two and luckily found one for $140, so there are deals out there if you're patient.

I'm afraid that I don't have a part number. I normally look things up at http://getmercedesparts.com, but I can't seem to find a listing for it.

The mirrors come in black, gray, and beige I believe, so it may be worthwhile to call your SA and have someone at the dealership look up the exact part number that corresponds to your interior color.

When I was checking eBay, I was periodically searching for "(w204, c300, c350) rear mirror"

I find that there's a part that has the auto dim, but not the homelink and perhaps another that has both.

Also, not sure if there is a diff part number for RHD cars.

What about the outside mirrors? What's needed to upgrade them to auto-dim?
