Video in motion?Aux inputs for 2010 C300. Cant find the right info

I been going crazy all over this forum and www.benzworld.org
I have the multimedia package and i would like to setup video in motion along with video Aux for a rear view camera and other video accessories.
In the glovebox i have the proprietary jack. with my car came the ipod cable/3.5mm jack cable that hooks up to this proprietary jack.

i am very confused because i've read that people can in fact watch Aux video from the 3.5mm jack. is that correct?
I tried plugging in my ipod classic using a regular 3.5 mm cable to 3.5 mm cable and playing a video while having the command on AUX. I only got sound. I also tried plugging it using the ipod cable but it automatically takes me to music and it plays it. At this point you cant access the ipod because its synced to the car.

I also tried both my wife's and my iphone 4 to play video with no luck. what im i missing.
i also went on the engineering option and the aux was already turned on.

Guys what im i missing.

im getting a sound system installed im my car this week and i was hoping to get the right equipment for video in motion and Aux so i can have the installers do that also at a lower price.
I am also thinking about getting a backup camera installed.
is it possible to have an adapter for multiple aux inputs.
i would like to in the future after i finish paying all the money i'll be spending this week to install a digital tuner and hacked nintendo WII so i can have old school emulators like mario bros etc.

i've checked http://www.midcityengineering.com/ and
http://www.navtv.com/vehicle_products.php

what products do i need for the applications that i need. also where to get the cheapest.

Please if you know let me know.
Its been so hard to get info. If i can get all this to work i'm going to write up a DO IT YOURSELF Barny style so everybody can access the info faster and not have to spend countless hours trying to figure out how or where.

It might be the plug

Did you use the proper 3.5mm plug? The type with the extra connector for video, and not the standard audio type.

That's the wrong one! If you need it to end in female plugs, this one should work.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...#ht_2468wt_907

If you bought both of them, you could connect them and have 3.5mm plugs at each end.

and this will carry both audio and video across both ends?
so i would need 1 3.5 to female and 1 3.5 to male right?
do you have a similar setup for your glove box?
so this could actually also work for a wii or a cable tuner huh huh?

You already did The one you linked to above terminates in male plugs. I would try to find a male to male 4 connector 3.5mm cable so as not to have the connectors in the middle (one less thing to go bad).

I am trying to use the glove box video input to connect a rear view camera (without having to remove the COMAND unit), possibly with a wireless connection. This is why I was looking at connector cables.

Please post your final solutions.

will do. although i dont think a wireless camera would work for this. from what i been reading when you put it on reverse its almost as if your switching inputs on the tv.
from the little that i know so far
reverse would be input2
and park is input 1
i've seen youtube videos where people have the tv tuner going and then they put in on reverse and their camera goes on.

i wasnt able to try it. i bought one set 3.5mm to 3RCA female. Also, after doing some more research i found out my ipod classic was 6generation. from 5gen and up the video no longer comes from the 3.5mm jack. so i also need to the dock AV cable
http://cgi.ebay.com/AV-TV-Video-USB-...ht_3949wt_1141

so now im just waiting on the 3.5 mm to 3 RCA female cable to come in the mail to try this with my ipod.
i tried it today with a 3.5mm to 3 RCA male and a macbook with vga adapter to rca and i had no luck. there was an image but unstable.
i will try again with the ipod once i get the cables in the mail.

So can anyone confirm that the 2008 w204 aux in works with video as well? It seems like 2010+ does, but it's unclear whether the are different or not. I ask because I'm trying to figure out whether I need midcity's VIM204 (enables VIM) or VIM204P (enables VIM + provides a video in jack for iphones or a backup camera).

The VIM204P costs $100 extra.
