Paid via Paypal on 1/16 and received grille 2/8 via UPS (very well packed, too!). I recall him saying I was among the first to pay, so I got one of the first grilles he sent out as he went down the list.

I paid via paypal as well on 1/16. He shipped it on 1/19 with a tracking number. He said it would delivered by Friday afternoon which it did on 1/21.

Okay. Well. I paid on the 18th but never got any shipping info although he said it had shipped. Basically what you both are saying is there's a CHANCE that I could have a gift waiting at my house when I get home from work today? Because that would be fantastic.

There's always that chance. However before he shipped mine, he called me up saying the shop he was getting the grills from only had limited grills left and said he would ship mine out first since I was one of the first to pay. I said okay and asked me if he should call the remaining buyers (you and others) and tell the rest are probably on delay. I told him to do so, but haven't heard from if he actually did or not. If you want, I can PM you his number that he called me from.

My experience has been exactly the same. All of you saying how it's from china and I should just wait should really reconsider their opinion. We as customers were told one thing and were lied to. Now I have paypal working on the refund. He said they were coming from socal also... If you say something had shipped but cannot provide a tracking number or an email back then your a scammer. If you can't defend yourself on this thread then it is enough said.

I understand your frustration, but remember... he's doing this as a Group Buy type thing. It is not his company/business. As such, "customer service" falls behind school, family, his normal life. I've had this happen before, both as someone trying to get in on a good deal as well one organizing a GB.
So if I'm getting in on a GB, I know not to expect, nor do I hold the organizer to, the same standards as a business. If I get that higher level of service, it's a bonus. I see it as a tax for getting a good deal. Definitely your perogative for wanting a refund, though. Everyone has diff pain thresholds...

Good point Doanster. However, SportSticks optimism didn't help me today as I just arrived home..to no grill delivery. Oh well. When it comes, it comes.

And... if my ISP ever gets it's act together and tells me how to access my FTPd pics, I'll put up pics/DIY for the grille install to tide you over. I *did not* purchase it through Mike and this GB though. Timing just coincided w/ this thread. Fitment is great, btw, but like others have said, it is 100% plastic, so do not expect OEM "heft".

Well the weekend has gone by and still no grill or replies to e-mails or this thread. What are you guys that made excuses for him think now ?

Is there ANY new info? Has anyone received their's or heard from this guy in the past few days?? I've waited about as long as I am willing to wait. How easy was it to get your money back from paypal EV2??

OK here is the deal , it will depend on how you paid the scammer...........

If you sent the payment as a gift and funded the transaction with your own cash. ....The scammer beat you. Since there isn't a disputed product with a gift transaction, Paypal doesn't get involved!

If you sent the payment as a goods/services tranaction , dispute the charge in the resolution center within Paypal.

If you paid for the transaction with a credit card , call the cc company and dispute the charge.

I don't know Mike. I had a successful transaction where I received excellent customer service and the purchased product. I offered that information only to state that my experience was different than what seems to be happening now. The difference in our outcomes is quite odd, and just from my experience, diligent and courteous sellers don't turn into "scammers" overnight. But, I cannot explain recent behavior and don't know what happened to Mike. Actually, my thoughts are running along the lines of hoping he is O.K.

Yeah. I'm with you SportStick. It is highly strange how you had such a good experience and some of us have not. I will say though that my options are fairly nonexistent, as I sent him the money via paypal as a gift (he made sure to tell me multiple times to make sure I send it this way).

Not to defend the guy as I do not know him but maybe his account here got hacked. It has happened on the watch forums I frequent. Imagine it being 5 of 6 grand that you got nailed for, I know watch collectors who have not pretty.
