Did anyone purchase a grille through mike_benzc300?
It's been a month and I wanted to know if I should contact paypal. Also, if he is a scammer I want everyone to know.

Those grilles come from china and they take about a month to get because they have to go through customs...?

I've met him too. I sold my Carlsson front lip to him and he seems like a genuine guy. Chances are the grilles will take a while if they are shipping overseas.

Did you ask him for an update/status and not get a response? Starting a new thread w/ his name and Scammer in the title is a bit alarmist if you haven't. If you have and he hasn't responded, then he'll have to come here to defend himself.

I haven't personally dealt with him, but from my conversations with him about this topic, he seems genuinely interested in helping out MBW members. My $.015-worth...

Not only is he NOT a scammer, he called me once when he thought there would be a delay and offered a refund, which I declined, being a patient person. Then after we spoke/pm'd some more, he called again to give me a choice of black or chrome, as he remembered I planned to paint it and thought I might prefer a lighter chrome base. Then, the grille arrived this week. Mike did a great job, was honest, helpful, friendly, and considerate

And, I wouldn't recognize him if he walked in the room right now. We have no prior relationship.

mine took a month to get to my country + it was held on customs and i didnt know till i checked the tracking number

and if it comes from china it might take a wile cause its a holiday there now

He called me about only having 1 grill since the others were on delay. He did send out mine which came in a few days later. This was about a month ago. I don't think he's a scammer. like everyone said, there's probably an issue with the customs and it should be in soon.

He did sound young so maybe he is grounded

Yea I'm waiting on a grill to arrive from Mike as well. Pm'd back and forth with him a few times over the past week. Most recently yesterday, when he assured me that the grills had been shipped and if I don't receive by end of the week to check back. Seems like a genuine guy. I reeeeally want my grill to get here already though...

Still waiting for mine also , he said it was shipped but hasn't provided a shipper or tracking #. I think I may have my West Coast Brothers in Blue

I don't know the man but I know this, CHINA closes everything for a month for Chinese new years. I know this for a fact so maybe that's the reason for the delay for anything that comes from CHINA. Work in some parts of CHINA resumes after the 21st of Jan.

if the grilles are been shipped from china, it could be delayed b/c of chinese new yr..
a lot of business/factory/place began to shut down a week before chinese new yr and won't resume work until next week...

Are you quite certain? Perhaps he said they have been shipped to him, and now the Chinese situation is affecting timing? I found him to be very communicative, as he called me twice with updates. My grille arrived earlier this week. With the first few grilles just starting to show, I think there is no need for worry that you have been victimized, but for whatever the logistics are, patience may be required.

I'm glad you all are saying what a stand-up guy Mike is .......maybe his customer service sucks .

The facts are (and I still have the e-mails ):

1 - Paid him 1/18/2011 he said he was shipping them on 1/21/2011
2 - E-Mailed him for updates - now he was shipping them on 1/29/2011
3 - E-mailed for an update - replied that I should have by now, give it a day 2/8/2011
4 - Replied asking for a tracking number on 2/8/2011 no reply!
5 - E - mailed him on 2/9/2011 mentioned grill has not arrived and to supply the shipper and a tracking number...........no reply!

So you guys tell me no replies, no posts to this thread. You ask me if " I'm quite certian"............... facts are facts.

Did he personally ship the grill like he said on 1/21 and then 1/28 or was that BS.
Have the grills ever been shipped ..................then provide a tracking number.

When I was living in Hong Kong, the only time of the year you could count on not having smog was towards the end and just after the lunar new year when 99.9% of the facories were closed for two weeks.
