Window Lock Doesn't Work...
Ok, so I have never tried to use it before, until yesterday. But I clicked my window lock button yesterday for the first time as a friend of mine was messing around. Long story short, I clicked the button and it lights up red, indicating that it has been turned on, but the window switch on all the doors still works. What gives? I really don't want to bring in my vehicle just for this issue, and will probably wait until my next service. At first I laughed and was like WTF. But after trying it many times after multiple fresh starts, it still doesn't do anything. It's like a fake button.
And also, the window lock button isn't supposed to block the driver side buttons from working correct, only the other doors? |
On our vehicles, the design intent is only to block the rear windows from being operated by rear seat passengers. This is based on the frequency of kids in the back and an adult in the right front. With the lock set, and red light on, the driver can still operate all four windows, but the switches in the rear doors should be inactivated. If yours still lower the windows, there is something wrong.

That's silly. I know the driver's panel still works. But why the hell doesn't it block the passenger side switch from working? To be honest, I didn't test the back seat yet. I will try it later tonight though...

I have owned 3 cars with this lockout feature and it has only affected the rear windows, as a kid protection feature. Check it out
