HOW to set parking mode passenger side mirror?
(So my baby FINALLLYYY came in. Expect a fanfare thread with pics once I get it tinted next Monday)
Anyone able to set their parking mode passenger side mirror? I am driving a 2011 Sport c300 MT with no premium packages so I have the AUDIO 20 system, not Command (not that this should matter for setting this up according to the manual). I followed all the instructions to the T (its page 100 or 101 I believe for the 2011 version) multiple times and I can't get it to work.
Any tips or suggestions?

For me its:
Put in reverse, press the right side mirror selector, adjust to the position you want it to be in when you back up, hit 'M'. and it should be programmed.

Ya when I go into reverse nothing happens. I dont have any seat saving buttons or the M button on my C so that is not an option (what package has this?)
In the manual it says the method you described with the M is an alternative - the E has this button but that method didn't work there either.
WTF

I guess 'parking mode' requires Premium 1 package which includes memory seat and exterior mirror. It's 2011 setup, not sure of previous years. Someone please verify.
There is no need to press M button to set up parking mode. Shift to reverse then adjust passengeer side mirror to where you want it to be, done. Car knows it's in reverse so mirror will go to parking mode, and knows it's in drive so mirror goes back to normal position. Also remember if the last press is on driver side switch, parking mode is disabled. To enable, press the passenger side switch as the last step, and it will always go to parking mode whenever car is in reverse.
Shifting to reverse is virtually an additional memory for passenger side mirror.
I tried so many times now I found it very easy, don't have to think about it.

No problem mate the E350 has P1 so I will give it a go on that again for sure. Too bad I can't do it with the C... I will have to buy some nice blind spot mirrors.

Well, car has no speed when 'reverse to park' so in 10 seconds mirror will go back to normal.

Um, I've been manually tilting down my mirror for tighter parking spots...

Set the mirror down position as setting #3 in your memory seat controls (assuming it's unused otherwise!). It's easier to just press the 3, and then the 1 to return to normal, than to try to move the mirror each time.

MB memory seat/mirror is different from my other Japanese cars. MB requires pressing and holding button until the saved position is reached. Other cars only requires a press. I think MB's way is safer, just need a bit extra effort to get to the position.

I am sorry, but I do not understand your idea. Could you please try to explain again? For our cars without the automatic tilt down in reverse feature, what is your suggestion?

With my 2011 C which has Premium 1 package including memory seats and other stuff, I turn the key to position 2 (don't need to start engine), shift into Reverse, press the passenger side mirror button, adjust the passenger side mirror down to where I could see my rear wheel and curbside (if I am on the street trying to park). Done.
As long as I don't press the driver side mirror button, the passenger side mirror always tilt down whenever the car is in Reverse.
Some people do not like mirror to tilt down to avoid wear and tear, just press the driver side mirror button to 'disable' the mirror tilting. Tilting position is saved and if passenger side mirror button is pressed again, tilting is enabled again and mirror will go down the the previously saved position.
I don't think it will work on non memory seat cars but not 100% sure.
