Deciding between C300 and C250
#26
oh dam lol. my bad!
but in my opinion, i like the c250 for a commuter car vs my c300 because of the fuel effiecency. i dont need a power hungry/gas hungry car that i can barely get above 30 mph on a daily basis :/
also its cheaper by a bit

Yes, my 2002 Audi A4 is a Quattro 4 cylinder. It is a nice car and grip well on wet roads and on curve. It is also reliable during light snow (we don't have many snow storms in northwest NJ). But after 10 years, I feel maybe it isn't a bad idea to make a change, especially new features keep coming out.....

Doesnt look like it, C300's will only be 4MATICs, and will be the only 4MATICs.
C-Class Coupes ... RWD
btw, looking at specs, the C350 has rated mpg's about 10% better than the C300s, based mostly on the 7% taller final drive.

Check out the driving impression of a new C250 Coupe, well written comments about the performance vs. the C300.

But after 10 years, I feel maybe it isn't a bad idea to make a change, especially new features keep coming out. Friends have been suggesting the upcoming re-modeled 2012/2013 BMW 3-series, but I don't like BMW's interior and would prefer a quiet and smooth ride after long-day work.
I checked with two local dealers and they don't have any C250 in stock yet. Some reviews mentioned that C250 is noticeably noisier than C300 (one poster above said the same thing). So I will need to make sure that C250 is at least as quiet and smooth as my A4.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Cons:
1) The suspension is too firm for me and it became annoying when the road becomes a bit rough. The dealership doesn't have C250 luxury in stock yet, so I don't know how that version will look like.
2) It is a bit noisier than A4, not just the road noise, but also the engine noise when at low speeds.
3) The acceleration seemingly has a slight lag when starting from a dead stop.
4) The handling along sharp curves is good, but probably not as smooth as A4 Quattro. Not sure whether this is due to AWD/RWD issue or something else.
Pros:
1) The car is stylish, inside and out. The dash looks very nice with black MB-Tex.
2) There are a lot of features I like, such as lighting package, Attention assist, etc.
I didn't test C300 and C350, as I ran out of time. Overall, it is not convincing for me to upgrade from A4 to C250. It could be just that I have been with A4 for too long time and thus has a biased driving habit. I am not a car expert, not even a car enthusiast. So please don't flame the post.
Anyway, I guess I will wait a bit longer and see how things develop: a) 2013 BMW 3-series; b) C350 with 4MATIC or C300 with a new V6 engine.
Thanks to those who made suggestions.

Found one dealership that has a C250 sport. Did a test drive. Compared against 2002 Audi A4, the following is my impression on C250 sport:

Finally pulled the trigger for a C300 sedan with Premium 1 and single-disc command launch packages (MSRP $43,455). Managed to get it down to $39,800. Happy with it.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions!
