C-Class (S204 - 2011 facelift)
Android phone on a 2011 C-Class

Hello,

Does anyone ever connect an Android phone to a 2011 C-Class?

I've an android phone (Galaxy) and when my phone is connected (via bluetooth) to my car (2011 Comand Online sys) I'm loosing the data connection (on the phone itself). I need to reboot the phone to get it back.(I've tried with several firmware, its' always the same behaviour).

Does anyone having the same issue?
Any clue would be welcome (I'm checking the traffic via my phone and I desperatly need it)

Thank you

I have an HTC EVO 3D and I have it connected to bluetooth just fine. Although when I got it replaced it wouldn't connect the same way and I had to do it backwards from the first time I did it. But it works fine and has never had a problem that I know of.

Did you ever tried to access internet on your phone while your phone is connected to your car?
Do you have the comand online system?

Thank you

MB at the dealer instructs us that Motorola driods often have BT connection issues and that the phones need updates or firmware things...and that we only offer to connect them once, it will fail and then you have to recconct it again for it to work right.

Hope that helps

Me too

Guys
I have the same problem, cant connect to command online.

I have the latest firmware onn my I-Phone and have even tries both my other I-Phones and all my family members I-phones version 4.

My Provider has advised that they have the settings in place and it should sync, via internet tethering etc.
Still cant get this to work, all else works fine. Even tried utilising and swapping all the cables in the car back and forth in the new style usb connections. Get phone , interface bluetooth via music + I-pod etc.

Cheers
Eck

Lots of confusion in this thread.
Comand online uses Bluetooth DUN which isnt supported by any iPhone or any android phone as of yet.

The EURO 2011 models have COMAND online. In the US only the 2012 models support it, and it is completely disabled. Have to go into the engineering menu to turn it on.

No such luck. It won't work on an iPhone until either Apple adds support or MB uses a different standard. You're out of luck like everyone else.

Razr?

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a Motorola Razr.
According to the specs of the phone it supports the Bluetooth DUN profile.

I assume the Android OS doesn't put a stop to anything?

Talking Old Nokia

Hey guys

To work around the connection issues I connected an old nokia to the car (as most old nokia's support DUN) with a separate prepaid sim.

The phone lives in the centre console connected to the cars power supply, so the battery never goes flat.

And when I want to access command online (mainly to download directions from google) I simply just go to bluetooth in the command screen and select the nokia.

Works a treat every time. And when finished simply go back to phone in the command screen and select your android or iPhone!

Tried using both my iPhone4 and my mate's Samsung galaxy s ii, and neither worked for data. Ended up getting a Blackberry Bold 9900 through work and that works.

Android & Bluetooth

I realize I'm a little late to this topic, but on my 11 E I started experiencing BT issues after upgrading (their word not mine) to Gingerbread. Under FroYo I had ZERO issues with my Droid X and BT, my issue was with the Droid X itself and not sending emails properly (unrelated to the car). Then GB cam around and at least on Moto phones created a whole host of issues including BT connectivity (I think it has to do with the BT handshake and waking the phone up out of screen lock mode) and as others have mentioned the Data connection drops - that is not an MB BT issue - that is a special feature they added in Gingerbread.

I've learned to live with the BT issues - realizing that nothing I do or say to Motorola or Google will speed up a fix as for the data drop offs - it's a known issue and I think with the new 4g phones coming and IceCream Sandwich version on the way - anyone stuck with Gingerbread and a phone that can only run Gingerbread - is going to be S.O.L.

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!
Now you can connect android phones via FoxFi application or PdaNet 3.50. Maybe iPhone also has this application.

Don't forget on Command Online make new operator-connection and write dialup phone "123".

Sorry, for bad English.

Can you read your text messages via Comand?
SGSII has MAP (Message Access Profile) that should enable text messages via Comand.

If You talk about SMS - Yes. On Phone you must allow access to SMS.

Hi,

I've tried it, and I get further with the new software.
But I get stuck on "configuring internet connection" or something, it seems to timeout. I can see data being transfered in the app though.

Try my new app BlueDUN

I've developed a new android app, it's name is "BlueDUN" and it allows to connect the Mercedes Comand OnLine; it works with all latest Android phones.
Check on google Play and download it.
