Transmission service done, but ........

Well that's a bummer. This was my first transmission service and I have 50K miles on the vehicle, do you think I am okay or would it be worth the hassle of confronting the dealership about it?

Hassle them!!! And contact MBUSA. Get another opinion about the plug, and take a picture. That is what I just did... still trying to work out the concessions as a result of my dealerships LYING and STUPIDITY.

Had my 60,000km transmission service done last week. On the invoice they used 7L of ATF. Reading through this thread I've noticed that everyone mentions 9L or quarts.
I did a VIN decode at carinfo.kiev.ua and it comes back with a transmission number 722964 02 203317. Not sure if this website is giving me there correct information. http://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/merc...heck?su=deak5f
When I look at the WIS for the oil and filter change, the last table for transmission 722.964 says initial charge 9, 7. I'm not sure if it should be 9 or 7.
Can anyone confirm if they did my transmission service correctly?

V,
Europeans common use a comma (,) for a decimal point (.) so 9.7 is written as 9,7 in Europe.

Well.. I just got off the phone with my service rep as well and he told me I didn't have a drain plug on my 09' C300 *shurg*
I specifically requested that the TC be drained this morning when I brought her in and he even noted it on my invoice.

OMG.. Again? What is wrong with these dealerships? YOU MUST CALL MBUSA... and then go get your car on a lift... and then provide the proof (picture) of the plug and provide that to the dealer... and call MBUSA back! I had to do this...

I think someone said it before, but maybe before we all take our cars in for transmission service, we simply stop by the parts department, and buy a $3 plug or gasket for the torque converter.
It will be hard for them to claim the car has no drain for the torque converter if you hand them a replacement plug from their own parts department.

A little update to my scenario.
With the help from clarkz71, I able to provide screenshots of the parts# through my VIN and pictures showing the drain plug on the transmission. My SA (which is actually pretty cool) had another tech inspect my vehicle and viola, there goes the drain plug. I did however get into a discussion with my SA as he indicated that the transmission plate needed to be removed for a "clean" drain; telling me that it will be an additional 45 minutes. I was worried about additional labor cost but there wasn't any so that's good.
I picked up my car this morning and everything feels/looks ok. I was charged $628 for a Service A (50k miles) + a 722.9 Transmission Service.
Funny.. My SA said something along the lines of, thanks for bringing us the information, we now know more than we did before you came in. Of course, I gave credit to mbworld and clarkz71. Thanks everyone!

Is this mentioned in the WIS?

How about starting a list of dealers/indies who do the transmission service properly? I'm a year away from having this done and dreading having to go through this whole rigmarole just to get proper servicing.

I just found out that my dealer did not flush the torque converter of my car on my last transmission service 10k kilometers ago now I am a bit dissapointed they did a half *** job on the car. Now I want to redo the flush again just to make sure it wont crap on me in the future. Can anyone tell me that the life of the transmission did not significantly got affected after 10k of driving without a full flush. Does anyone in Vancouver know a good indy that specialize in mercs? Thanks!

One more thing. How will I know if I have the new pan and spill tube installed on my car? CRAP! now I am worried as well for my GLK. Does the GLK have the same transmission as the W204 and would the WIS document pertain to both vehicles?

Your 2011 might have a 722.9 Plus. You will have to check build against VIN.

I just had a conversation with two MB service managers and both of them said they don't drain the W204 torque converter as there is no drain hole (WTF!) they also said new c-class don't have drain plugs on the torque converters (another BS!?) I called a local MB indy shop here and ask about it and they said they drain also the torque converter and uses around 9.5 quarts of all and their service is just $350 compare to the dealers +$400 for a half *** job. I told them what I heard from the dealers and they just chuckled. I am getting mine redone next week just for piece of mind and I will watch them doing it like a hawk.

Look for the part numbers on the invoice(s). Some cars come with the new pan design, so the pan will not be replaced. Glyn has some picture of the old v. new pan and tube on the thread. As for the spill/Weir tube, there no good visual without the pan removal that I know of (use the part number from the invoice). Some of the newer transmission use the 134FE ATF (blue colored) instead of the 134 ATF (red colored) or what ever ATF is required for your particular transmission.
