This subject came up on a thread about the 2013 C250, and how the option was hidden from the shopper, ie not mentioned on web site or in the brochure.


This is how Glyn described it in the following thread at 12-2009:

"The "Advanced Agility Control" as it sells in this country is IMHO magic. It's been available from day 1 on the W204 here. It improves the car's dynamics & control in the twisty stuff quite considerably. More like a BMW. It gives you the best of both worlds. Comfort for normal use & better dynamics, turn-in, toughtness etc when you want to have some fun."

This summary was from a MB reference:

"With the continuously variable damping, handling becomes more taut, body roll is reduced and the ride becomes firmer. Steering and throttle response becomes sharper and gear changes more responsive (automatic transmission only). Even ESPĀ® (Electronic Stability Program) intervention is marginally reduced to help enhance the dynamic driving sensation – without compromising active safety, of course."



For those who like a push button change to a much, much sportier driving experience, order this option, but it also provides 18" wheels, which could be negociated out for the more forgiving 17" wheels.

But if you’d prefer something a little more exhilarating, simply push the button to 'Sport' Mode and everything changes, literally.


Just to get an idea of what years sold this "Dynamic Handling Package", who actually has this great option ? include model and year .... and a brief review would be great

I have it on 2008 C350 with AMG Pack. I ordered it as a separate option, with a part number/price.Originally, dealers told me I cannot have Advanced Agility Control with the AMG package. Mercedes SA website however indicated that you can, so I found one dealer that was willing to order, wait about 7-8 months for car.

Active Agility Control
Advance Agility Control-The one I ordered.
The current option has a different name, Dynamic Handeling Package.
I assume all the same, but different names over different periods.

Comfort mode:
1-Good smooth feel on good roads.
2-Can be sloppy sometimes.
3-React good in corners.
4-It fails dismally on a road suface that delivers the bumps at a certain frequency.Slight dent in road the wheel feels if it steps out=dealer found no fault.It feels it oppose the bumps, instead of absorbing it.
5-Accelleration gentle.

Sport mode:
1-feels every ripple on good smooth road.
2-Stiff.
3-React good in corners.
4-It fails dismally on a road suface that delivers the bumps at a certain frequency.Slight dent in road the wheel feels if it steps out=dealer found no fault.It feels it oppose the bumps, instead of absorbing it, worse than comfort here.
5-Acceleration as follows:reacts quick, with shoes on, I can hear the rearwheels looses grip as my foot move over bumps on roughly road surface, 1st two gears, like to drive without shoes, because of this.

I like the idea:Going to speak to Munroe making the shocks, then going to raise the problems again when car goes in for oilpump/bearing replacement.

The 2013 C250 Sport Sedan that lands at the port here in Los Angeles in approximately 8 hours has the Dynamic Handling Package (though, listed as the Advanced Agility Package on the MSRP).

I should have it within the next four days. Expect a full report!

i have a c250 CGI and it came from factory fitted. only luxury ver available in malaysia.
The c300 V6 ver have stock AMG sport bodykit & rims. ( both have three spoke steering wheel with paddle shift)
Sport button.( i been told by C&C technician that it's actually call STANDARD mode instead of SPORT).

In Malaysia the Dynamic Handling Package is a factory fitted on c250 cgi c300 v6 and is call Avantgarde.
The car can drag more on higher RPM and the suspension becomes stiffer.

The c200 kompressor & c200 cgi is more common here cos the price different is 13k usd.
though we have some c180 coupe available from C&C but the cost is 5k usd more compare to c250 cgi( 92900 usd)
the c200k , c180k , c180 cgi, c200 cgi ,c250 cgi ,c280 v6 ,c300 v6, c350 v6 ( very rare) have most recon model
( previously used by UK) and import to Msia. the price is cheaper ( with lesser warranty only 3 months).
The recon model comes with AMG sport bodykit ,rims and paddle shifter.

I've got a C300 - Avantgarde and optioned it AMG Sports Package (950) as well as the Dynamic Handling Package (483). From a performance point of view when you engage the sport mode (ie Sport Button on dash) you notice a discernable change in acceleration ('jumps' off the line better, more responsive, holds the gear longer ) as well as a firmer ride. The exhaust also sounds sportier. Great vehicle.

From my understanding - and those more knowledgeable than me correct me if I'm wrong - the Dynamic Handling Package is a seperate optional pagkage. Agility Control suspension with selective dampening is a system that is standard across the C Class range - well at least here in Australia. BTW I forked out an extra $2,672 for this option and haven't regretted it.

You are correct about the Dynamic Handling Package being a separate optional package; one that must be special ordered from the factory.

The nomenclature used to describe the package AND option vary by region.

What I mean by that, is that there is a Package (code 315) which includes an Option (code 483).

In some regions (and some model years) the package is referred to as the Dynamic Handling Package. While in others it is also referred to as the Advanced Agility Package. The same goes for the option.

On my 2013 C250 MSRP it is listed as follows:

I am uncertain if someone can have the option code 483 without having the package code 315.

Or the reverse, of having the option code 483 without 315, 213, 428 and 786. Though, I suppose you could simply opt out of 428 and 786 I wonder if 213 and 483 are a paired deal, so to speak.

Anyone know?

I have a 2012 C350 with the dynamic handling package. It's the only C-class I've driven, so I can't compare it to a standard C. In either sport mode or full "manual" mode, it is very responsive and I think it handles just as well as the 335i that I drove while comparison shopping.

I like the fact that the dynamic handling package on the C350 model makes my car somewhat unique. I see a lot of Cs on the road, but very few C350s. Maybe 1 in 50+ is a C350. MB doesn't really advertise the dynamic handling option in the USA, so I doubt too many people request it on their C.

I also think the 18" wheels AMG wheels that came with the package complete the look of the car. I've seen a few C's with the 17" AMG wheels. They're nice, but they just don't look quite as good.

TL;DR: It was worth waiting 6 months to order a custom C with the dynamic handling package.

Does anyone know about the C/S button next to the shifter on a C250 with the Dynamic Handling Package (315) and Advanced Agility (483) - is it a M/S button instead or is that only for those with the Sports Package (code 956)?

Does anyone have this or does anyone know?

On my C350 with dynamic handling package, I have two buttons. Next to the driver's heated seat switch is the C/S button. The M button is next to the shifter.

2009 c300 rwd Dynamic Handling Package also with the paddle shift. sport mode button and manual button......Love it eurocharge tune helped as well

Yes all lag is gone. Even if there is no hp increase at all. Which I'm sure there is, in my opinion it's still worth it just for the throttle response being much better,

I have a C250 with dynamic handling in Singapore.

The way I understood it - the car option required AMG Sports Package (950), before the Advanced Agility [aka Dynamic Handling] (483) option was available.

I think Dyamic Handling changes 3 main parameters with activation through the 'S' button.

1. shock absorber damping rate
2. gear shift mapping
3. steering ratio

Personally, I like the firmer setup of the dynamic handling. i.e. The firmer damping and 'heavier' steering gives me a better feel of the roads.

Sports mode keeps me at a generally higher rev range/lower gear, which also means I stay in turbo spool. However, I do feel that the rev is kept a tad high for a casual gentle drive.

I had since installed a piggyback and it is working out right for me. I get to drive in 'S' mode with a relatively smoother acceleration mapping to my liking.

I had also recently installed a set of eibach anti-roll, after a year of driving 'stock' dynamic handling. It works even better!

I believe a '13 GLK350 Loaner I had a few days ago had this.

It seemed like as I rolled into turns, it counter-weight against me, making the steering stiffer, which I thought was very nice.

I have just bought a 2007 C350 W204 with dynamic handling package . The shock absorbers need replacing & they are pretty pricey . Are there any options besides OEM parts . I look forward to the replies

I found the other day that I have dynamic handling package when I was changing the springs to h&r sport.
Not sure if they will improve the handling, still have one more side to go

I was looking at a 2011 C300 brochure and don't see any handling package as an option. A 2011 C300 I'm considering buying has the twin spoke 18" AMG wheels but nothing else indicating a handling package. It is a 6 speed manual. Any thoughts on whether it just has the normal sports suspension?
