Pre-Paid Rip-off?

My 2012 C Class is due for its 20,000 service. I made an appointment at Mercedes Benz of Alexandria in Alexandria, VA and was told I will get an oil change and fluid check. According to their website and the the attached maintenance schedule, this service should include a brake fluid change (among other things). The dealer says it does not include a brake fluid change. What gives? How can they have a REQUIRED maintenance schedule and tell me the maintenance plan I paid $1150 doesn't cover it? Are they wrong? Has anyone else experienced this?

That is absolute BS.

I would go to another dealer and dont say anything, and/or call MB USA Customer Service.

You should read the fine print in your prepaid service agreement to see what it actually covers.
The brake service is required every 2 years independent of mileage.

Interesting. I leased my car from MB Arlington (same company as MB Alexandria) and I bought a two year maintenance plan. I thought it covered brake fluid flush too.

UPDATE: I just dropped the car off. The SA I talked to said the brake fluid is covered. Apparently, I got bad info from the SA I talked to earlier. I hope I can recall that nasty email I sent to MB USA!

On the other hand, if they deal properly with your nasty email, they will work harder to have the SAs trained well.

MB used to offer two levels of prepaid service. One was just the scheduled oil changes the other was prepaid A + B services. I made the mistake on my 2008 and purchased the lower of the two (second was not even offered). Imagine my surprise thinking all scheduled service was paid for when they did my B service and I was handed a pretty hefty and unexpected bill. When I got the 2011 I made sure All scheduled maintenance was covered.

Lesson learned a long time ago!

Having owned 4 MB and the last one being my wife's 2012 C250, here's what I learned a long time ago...

When writing up your warranty service request make sure that the "Service Advisor" inserts as the first line item this comment, "Call and request authorization from owner for any charges not covered by the warranty!".

Case in point, I've gotten several "freebies" because the dealer failed to do so!

Caveat emptor!
