New 2012 C350 owner, interior light ?
I just purchased a 2012 C350. The question I have is about the interior orange lighting. They do not seem to turn on with the headlights, but only when it is darker. This occurs even when I turn the headlights on manually. Is this how it is supposed to be, or is there a setting somewhere I can adjust?

I have the brightness all the way up. I am curious how the orange ambient lights know when to turn on. Because they do not always turn on with the headlights. And sometimes the dash buttons get hard to see, and I would like to have these lights come on. Is there a way to get them to always come on with the headlights?

I believe the sensor that controls the background lighting (like for the infotainment buttons) is next to the COMAND screen. I know what you mean - there are times that I wish it were more like other cars, and the interior lighting was tied with the headlamps. I don't think there is a way to change that though.

Thanks for the update. This is my first Mercedes and I wanted to make sure that is how it worked. Really that is about the only thing I would change on the car. Other than adding lines to the rear view camera and increasing it's field of view.
