Depends on where you are. My neighbor across the street is an NYC Police Officer and he told me in the beginning of the summer that they were going to crack down on tints big time.

Really depends on your area, but at least here in socal, cops generally won't pull you over for dark tint alone, but can add it on as they look for ticket add-ons after pulling you over for something else. I was super paranoid when I first got my dark tint and rolled down the window whenever I see a cop pulling up next to me at a light, but after a while realized they just didn't care.

I had been twice for the pass month. One time just for tints, got lucky and just gave me one tint for it instead of two and another one from add on tickets. Now I just roll them down instead of opening the ac and whenever I see a cop passing by. Some cop care, some dont. When its end of the month...I think they all do...

I think that's the issue with tints, it's just another reason for a copper to pull you over.... so if you happen to have a tendency to drink/smoke while driving, leave the tint off lol. I personally don't have my windows tinted so people can see me stunting

Don't know where you are from but each state and city is different. Suggest you check out the state statute and see what your state law is.
I live in Minnesota and have my windows tinted to 35%. I was pulled over and the Highway Patrol tested the windows and said they were over the 50% limit.
Here you can get a prescription from your eye doctor for a darker tint if you are "sensitive to light". I showed him the prescription and he said you are good to go. He also said they are stepping up stops on dark tint to protect their safety.

Yeah, lol I don't smoke and get dds so I don't drink and drive. Too many DUIs out there don't wanna be one of them. As for rolling down the window when seeing a cop ill try that. Someone said because I'm a girl I might not get in trouble lol we ll just see about that. :p

In my country there are no restrictions. My wife's w204 has tinted window all the way around
even the front windshield is slightly tinted - obviously not as much as the rest of the car.
It is very sunny and hot year round, and she drives a lot during the day.

I had 50% in the front and 5% in the rear and I got pulled over for the fronts being too dark. But I live in CA where the darkest the fronts can go is 70% and the rears don't matter...Cop pulled me over for speeding first but saw my student parking sticker and marked me for my windows only

My is 35% tinted all around but with black interior and at 1am in the morning on the back road with no light. I turned ON all the interior lights and roll down my window before the officer approach my car. I think he appreciated it and I got away with a warning for doing 60 in a 40.

One thing I've noticed is that officers seem to care more in states where open carry in legal. I live in Oklahoma and we recently became "licensed open carry" and I've heard of a lot more tint citations being given out, which I feel is because the officers really want to be able to easily see the firearm situation in your car. Just my $0.02.

It is definitely a LEO Safety Issue most of the time unless its completely obvious in a "no-tint" state. You never know who or what you are approaching- Tinted windows rolled up make me nervous. I had a Bulgarian guy driving a blacked-out Mercedes recklessly and when pulled over- refused to roll down the windows. Told the Deputy to get what he needed off of the plate. The plate came back to a suspended license. The car had bullet-proof glass and was armored. He was also illegally carrying multiple firearms and weapons.
Nuff Said.

I have 15% (28% Legal in Florida) and I love the way the car looks but I am going tomorrow to have it removed. It is extremely difficult to see out at night or when its storming. I also love the interior and wish is could be seen.
