W204 LED taillights how to

1 Attachment(s)
This is a pdf file that will guide you through performing coding for rear tailights on 2008 and 2009 W204. It's in german so you need to change the settings exactly how they are on this PDF. In order to do this you need a SDS clone with DAS developer mode. No programming needed only coding. I am in the Houston area if anybody wants to get this done.

Thank you !

Thank you so much.

Just giving people a heads up..... if you find someone to do this make sure they have DAS 11/2012 and down. 01/2013 and up I believe 204 chassis is no longer available in DAS. I can tell you for sure 05/2103 07/2013 and 09/2013 do not have 204 under DAS. I just finished installing DAS/XENTRY 09/2013. Share people..... I paid some guy out of europe 40 euros for this files. Enjoy!

Yea, still looking for someone to figure this one out...

As far as I know the reason why it can not be done on 2010 and 2012 models is because when you go into the rear sam with DAS Developer mode the menu is completely different from earlier models. I have done handful of 2008 models. I have never tried on a 2010 or 2011.

Do pre-facelift models need P2 or Lighting Package to install and code these correctly?

Will this work on 2008 GLK ( EU version ) for 2012 tail lights ?

black lavender 10-21-2013 06:20 PM

I take it any Mercedes dealership can do this if I purchase the tail lights?

NO. Mercedes dealer do not have DAS in developer mode. Their diagnostic computers are limited and cannot access this menu needed for coding.

teja1936 10-24-2013 01:16 AM

If a Mercedes dealer does not have "DAS in developer mode", then who does??

you can find them on eBay and sometimes Amazon. they are from China of course. People usually do not like to advertise that they have the program. I have a '11 and i can tell you the steps in the above DiY, the screen shots are different on the '11. from what i have heard i either must have my rear SAM programmed in a '12 or buy a new '12 rear SAM and program it in my '11 and also i must code the VIN number as well. i am not totally sure of all the steps. I may just break down and purchase the Taiwan knockoffs. though i rather have OEM rear LED's. may just be too entailed. :(

Wanted to thank you for your generosity in sharing such info with us!

Using your PDF i managed to reprogram my 09 with LED rear turn signals, and convert it to the new 2012 taillights! without any single issue!!!

BIG THUMBS UP to you and the lovely community! :bow::bow::bow:

If someone knows how to decode the sam using XENTRY developer program please contact with me...Since 2012, DAS software is not compatible with W204 chasis...
I am willing to pay any info, I am located in europe...

You have before and after pics? I'd like to see that this works. I've had my lights since late January 2012. I got them from one of the first sellers from the UK. I'm one of the only people in the states with the 2012 tailights with Amber turn signals. I've tried almost everything over the past two years especially when someone comes through with a breakthrough... Well I haven't tried it the European Performance in St Petersburg fl has... But I just want proof that this worked before he has my car for two days.

Sorry bro I don't have any before pictures. And I would like to inform you that it is 100% fully functional as if it came from factory!
This procedure helped my programmer to have it fully functional as stock. As they used to program them while having something not fully functional.

You should check if your Drivers side taillights have the fog LEDs as England is right hand drive cars.

If your fog lights are on the right taillight is easy to have it programmed.
In this case you need to change the following settings on;
PRL_FoglmpLftEnable_b = nicht freigegeben
PRL_FoglmpRgtEnable_b = freigegeben

Just checked my fog comes on on the drivers side. Does that mean this won't work?

Ok cool thanks man. I sent the PDF to the guys already. It's been a headache for them and they've never charged me for labor. Good looking out.

I have them too, OEM. With the amber turn signals. I just bought a 2012 rear SAM and they work properly, no issues.

Anytime buddy! All credits goes to the OP.
Wish you all the best. And please keep us updated

No need to waste money in the SAM

I agree, but unfortunately for me it was the only route to get facelift tail lights. 2010 and 2011 model W204s cannot be re-programmed. Also whenever I want to sell the car, I just simply swap out the SAM and replace it with my old one, instead of dealing with any issues(if they arise) of reprogramming the rear SAM for halogen tail lights. I then can sell the SAM for more money, as they are hard to come across to.

:y This is probably what I'm gonna end up doing.
