Today I've gotten a ticket for no front license plate and I drive a 2010 MB C300 Sport. Not only was I pulled over by a CHP for just that but also for 2 front tinted windows. Basically a chicken **** ticket. I could understand for tinted windows but the front license plate is ridiculously absurd. So I just wanted to get this off my chest, even though knowing this won't get passed but its worth a shot. I hope everyone here understands and wishes for the best knowing that 20 other states doesn't require frontal license plates.

Good luck with that, people have been trying for years. Find a different way to mount your plate if you don't want to drill your bumper, there are many alternatives out there, Or suck it up and risk the tickets. 20 other states isn't even half the country so you have no leg up there.

If you understand getting a ticket for illegal front window tint then why can't you understand the ticket for lack of front plate which is also illegal? It just so happened you got a ticket for both. Would you have posted this if you only got ticketed for the windows and not the plate?

i hate this front license plate law too, but it's still a law in CA nonetheless. I place my plates on just so cops won't hassle me for that. I know lots of people that goes without the front plate and just deal with the fix it tickets, and they can add up quite quickly.

F***k that bs! Lol we have the same stupid law in VA. When I had my S550 it didn't come with a license plate bracket and I couldn't justify drilling holes into my $100k ride. Ticket after ticket and I never put it up haha! And the worst was going to DC, couldn't ever take my S550 there. I would get a "parking ticket" for my front plate every time I went there. I don't understand why you HAVE to have it but either way it's so dumb!!

What do you mean "not only was I pulled over for JUST that"? Like it or not, a law is a law, and you broke two of them, hence your citations. You don't have to agree with it. The cop writing the ticket doesn't even have to agree with it.. but you do have to comply, or pay the price. Your choice

Good luck with that petition. I may be wrong, but I sincerely doubt the state of California is going to care that you, or anyone else for that matter think front license plates make your car look unnattractive. I hope you can, stop, breath for a minute, take a step back, and think outside the box here and realize how ridiculous a petition for something so trivial sounds.
