Resetting service indicator. 2 ways? Help!
I have searched the forum and see many members reset it manually. They do their own service and don't take it to the dealer.
Does the on-board-computer tell how it was reset?
Does this affect the warranty?
Thanks
Oh yeah, I'm never going back to this dealer.

Influence on the warranty depends on where you live. In the US & Australia, as an example, you are protected by law. As long as you can prove that the oil & filter were changed (keep slips) whether by yourself or a non Benz franchise you are covered. Benz would have to prove that any action by you resulted in a failure.
In countries like SA Benz can invalidate a warranty if you don't have a vehicle serviced by a dealer. But here all cars are sold with a Mobilodrive plan (service plan) so there is no sensible reason to DIY as Benz is picking up the tab. They genuinely check out the vehicle for an A service. Full chassis & fluids check including brakes, connect to Star & check for fault codes, Change oil & filter & cabin filters & wiper blades. Wash & clean the car & you get it back pristine.
