new LED Projector Headlight Pair

I spent a lot of time driving at night this weekend, and the depo lights with 35w xenon bulbs are fantastic compared to the stock setup. Not only do they simply look better, they also function really well. My GTI that I traded in for this had excellent factory xenon lights, and I think these are easily as good for beam spread and pattern, and they are also a little brighter.

Can anyone looking for the RHD version of these lights please get in touch with me.
I have found a supplier and i am trying to get an idea of how many people would be interested in buying them.
Regards
Stephen

Hey AnotherHobby,
I installed the Clearview HID kit and the lights seem to have a life of their own. Sometimes the passenger light flickers, and then sometimes the drivers side flickers. Then sometimes one of them might not come on, and then when I put the high beams on everything seems fine. Sometimes they even seem to work perfectly fine.
Did you have the same issues? I'm just wondering if there is a kind of warm up phase or break in phase? I don't want to return them unless I know they are bad because the price was so good.
Before I ordered the HID kit, I had spoken to Simon, who is Fishcake, and he suggested the Sylvania 9500 halogen bulbs, so I purchased them on Ebay. When I installed them they work fine, other than of course the yellow light, which is what I was trying to get away from. I don't recon I'm gonna get white light without going HID, so wondering how your Clearview HID kit is doing now?
Thanks for the info in advance.

I had no issues with the Clearview kit from the start. The warm up time is probably less than 30 seconds. The high beam is also the low beam, so that should make no difference. The high beam is just a shutter that lifts up out of the way in the projector.
Assuming you got them from Amazon, they are a no hassle and free return.

The shutters aren't making any noise at all, it seems to be the bulbs just flickering. But going to high beams I hear the shutter move and the flickering stops. It may just be a warm up thing but a.few times the driver side light won't come on at all. But go to high beam and all works well. It is intermittent, but I installed a set of new halogens and I didn't have the problem.
I haven't driven at night with them yet so may give them one more try before I return them for another set. I have the 5000k set-are they bright enough in your opinion or would the 6000k be brighter? I just want a clean bright, white light.
Thanks again.

The K is just the color, not the brightness. All 35w xenon's should be about the same brightness. As you go up in number, you add more blue 4300K is the OEM color. 5000K is very close and a little more white. Above that you start to add in blue. I personally prefer as close to OEM as possible. I'm not a fan of 6000K and up.

I liked the whiter light of the HID bulbs, however they just kept flickering and intermittently working. I had ordered Sylvania bulbs from Ebay and decided to install them while I figure out what to do with the HID kit. They work fine, however they are more yellow, which looks kind of ugly with the 'C' lights being white.
I am going to return the Clearview HID kit and hope to find a kit that will work better. Sucks because the price was too good to ignore.

I had a lot of issues with the Clearview HID kit, so I returned it. I am now awaiting a Morimoto HID kit, which is very highly rated and has a great warranty. Plus they are just really well made. I will update when installed.

Hi,
So I installed these headlights about 5 months ago. I probably drove probably only 3000 miles since.. and recently the right "C" LED parking lamp is having issues. Its goes on for a couple of minutes when I first drive and it when die off and the error shows up. But when the LED is on, it looks perfectly fine just like the left headlight. Sometimes when I unlock the car, the right LED will be flicker on and off and eventually stay on but not for long.
I intially thought the LED might be out but i'm not sure since it looks fine when it's on (when I compare both of them). Doesn't seem like its dimming off. Any suggestions or has anyone come across this issue?
Thanks!
EDIT: okay it's not an error code issue. It's definitely the wiring... I am still waiting for a reply VIA email or phone From Unique Style Racing... they said they would get back to me within 48 hours too..

"C" led has died after 7 months.
So I bought my headlights end of October last year, installed in November.
I started having issues with the "C" in my drivers side light. The dash showed the error message "Check passenger side parking light" or something to that effect.
I contacted USR beginning of May for help and was advised to check the connector. After having them installed for half a year I didn't think it would be an issue but I checked it out and found no issues. Contacted USR again to let them know my findings and haven't heard back after four days.
Beginning to think I'm SOL... I didn't think somerhing would fail less than a year after being installed. :/

As this is my first post I'll make it brief.. I'm LOVING the Depo Headlight Projector that either Fishcake or USR sells... my only issue is fitting it!!! I'm ready to buy it from either of them but need to find someone who can install it.. I'm crap with mechanical stuff. Lol.
Does anyone know where in Socal that can do it and is reliable? LA or surrounding areas?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!
Many thanks
Tan

Sounds like its not. I searched this whole thread but didn't see where anybody elaborated.

almost everyone has mounted their ballast externally. I think shoving it in the headlight housing is a needless risk of something catching on fire for an unnoticeable improvement in aesthetics.
I'm not 100% on how ballasts are wired, but from what I understood the ballast wires in-line to the HID bulb so it "grounds" on the bulb. so like the 55W "hot" wire on the original bulb wire harness -> ballast positive -> ballast -> ballast ground -> HID bulb harness "hot" wire -> HID bulb -> HID bulb harness ground -> original bulb harness ground.
Don't take any of that as fact, I mostly just want someone to correct me so I understand. My ballasts came pre-wired.

does anyone have an idea if the W205 headlights would fit the w204 pre facelift? i think they look a bit different design, and are there headlights available with the little C shape LED in the centre like the facelift headlights for the pre facelift headlights?
