Hello All.
Just purchased and installed the Depo C63 style Projector LED headlights from Fishcake. I was disappointed to find however that they came with a halogen bulb for the low beam projector and not LED as I thought. Am I missing anything here???

You mean the high beam projector? The smallest bulb which is at an angle?

Low beam. Regular driving lights. High beams are also halogen but I don't mind this.
Low beam which is in the projector are 9005/HB3 halogen. I thought for sure these were LED but not the case.

Pretty bombed out.:nix:

Hmm were they advertised as being installed with HID's? Mine were installed with DS (a number follows but can't remember what size/number) HID bulbs with a rating of 5000k, may just be a simple swap over to a HID kit if yours are only halogen

Not specifically. The ad however says "projector LED" and after reading the whole listing at least 5 times I pulled the trigger.

I am hoping Fishcake makes good as if they do not come with LED then the listing is incredibly misleading.

Not a big fan of aftermarket HID kits. Have had bad luck in the past when upgraded my Volvo S60 with them. Finally after 2 years I gave up and went back to halogen.

Really looking to go LED. Looks tight to retrofit in situ so may have to remove the assemblies to make for a clean installation.

They do come with LED, the LED that is mentioned in the listing is the LED 'C' shaped bar at the corner of the lights, the bar beneath the lights is for the indicator. The light housings are projector housings. By LED they don't mean bulbs, just the daytime running light in the corner

Mine installed within the headlamp assembly so there's no wires hanging out it's neat, if I was you I'd stick Osram Nightbreakers in there or maybe some more police unfriendly blue ones

Of course you could always put LED bulbs in there, just make sure the heat output from the back of the lights doesn't melt anything. There's a guy here on mbclub that has put LED bulbs into his to replace his halogens but he hasn't posted in a while but he said they were fine

That goes to show you that no matter how well you think you've read a listing and comprehended its contents you should always ask questions.

I hate the fact that I may have to bite the bullet and install LED's on my own.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Just buy H7 sized LED bulbs, Phillips and osram sell them, the only difference is the length of the bulb you may have to take dust covers off. Five minute process both sides

Yes. I will have to buy an LED kit. However with the Depo projectors it changes to 9005/HB3. So this is now the plan unless Fishcake takes these back and swaps for a set with LED on the low beam. I would just pay the upgrade fee.

There's no 'kit' needed, the official LED halogen replacement bulbs are just that... Take halogens out and plug in the LED versions, just be sure to buy the ones that fit the connections in the new lights which I imagine are still H7 it's a simple swap. The decent ones are mostly available from China for about $100 a pair, doesn't throw an error light

Regarding the high beam they're bi so the low beam just comes up brighter with the shutter open, alongside he angled small halogen bulbs, which if you have the patience and hands the size of a small child, can replace those too with LED bulbs

djgiovanni 02-29-2016 09:40 PM

So I spoke with Fishcake today. As it turns out there used to be listings for assemblies with either HID or LED before. These are currently out of stock and the reason why what I received were the halogen versions (which I ordered unbeknownst to me). He offered to upgrade me for an additional $90 plus freight which is not to shabby in my opinion.

Just wanted to advise all that this may very well have a happy resolution.
Thank you

In case anybody is looking to save some money on a set of these, I am selling my C300 and removed the lights today. They sell for $369 shipped right now on ebay. I'm selling them for $250 shipped. Send me a PM if interested. Paypal only.

Ahhh! I just ordered mine.

But yea, I knew they come with halogen bulbs with the optional hid (over priced hid in my opinion)

I believe the leds are the C shape and or the turn signal. How ever I did order some led bulbs for the low beam... Will let you guys know how it goes.

Check your lights. I ordered "xenon" upgrades from them and they are not xenon. Felix Cheung won't reply to requests for assistance now.

You should have ordered from fishcakes many of use ordered our depo headlights from him. I ordered my sisters c250 headlights from him as well.

I opted out of the xenon kit and purchased one from Morimoto. They make some of the best aftermarket kits and it worked without a problem, some of the other xenon claim to be error free but I usually have issues.

ReturnZero 11-14-2016 10:01 AM

I ordered a pair of these from the group buy and they are absolute junk. Both parking lights (the square parts next to the projector) have gone out or flicker badly and the xenon bulbs flick on and off all the time.

Oh well, they still look cool when off.

Took about 2hrs solo but I'd recommend getting help especially when putting the bumper back on and getting headlights in and out.

No major problems... Fairly simple once you watch the vid on pg18. (Thanks to poster).

Watch outs...
Full beams are halogens and look weird
Ordered 4300k but think I got something else (need to check at night)
Got some little AMG valve caps in the box (thanks!)
Don't leave phone on engine and start car to check headlights...

Did you ever find out if these were 4300k or 6000k? Sorry for posting on such an old thread, I'm stuck deciding between the two currently. If those were 4300k definitely getting them!

I have Depo headlights on 2 of my MB, CLK550 and C250 and I would strongly suggest getting a better HID kit and not the one that comes with the lights (from FISHCAKES).

I went with the Morimoto Kit, a little pricy, but worth it! running this kit in 3 of my cars.

Best,

I have headlights on my Mercedes b180 from https://www.uzooka.com/ and I'm satisfied. Prices are affordable and they have high quality of bulbs and headlights. Look cool! And it's not an advertisement, just my advice:rolleyes:

I do not think so. Would call manufacturer.

Since the car I'll probably buy has the Halogen lights from the factory, please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I buy the DEPO headlights from eBay, all I'll need to do is remove the existing headlights and install these ones?

These one come with white light bulbs (or LED? or D2S?) and everything (high beam, low beam, C-shape)? Just plug and play? No CANBUS errors?

UPDATE: I read the thread a second time and found that there is a second eBay listing from the same seller, but with LEDs for the Low/High beam instead of the 9005/H3 bulbs. I now fully understand the whole structure.

Silversun262 09-09-2017 10:26 AM

Correct, remove old and install new plugin and adjust beam.

Thanks a lot for replying. I'm going to continue reading, but the only question left now is whether to get the regular Halogen version or the LED version.

Will the halogen version still have a yellower light? Is the bulb included a 4300K bulb or somewhat more? I read that the LED version is 6000K from fishcake.

Silversun262 09-09-2017 01:12 PM

So so I ordered the halogen version. Currently upgrading to morimoto HID. Never run LED.
