Have to drill a hole in the back cover then place your ballast accordingly.

C300 sedan
Thanks guys for all the info about these LED projectors. I'm on the fence about buying them, but really want get better light output.

I had a few questions that I hope someone is able to answer.

1) Is fishcakes only selling a version of the projector lights with 9005 type halogen bulbs? Is there a version with the ballasts and HID's already installed, a link would be great.

2) For the partsforeuro website, it shows under the W204 coupe section, that shouldn't matter for the sedan version, as I'm assuming its the same.

3) Has anyone looked into getting the Bi-xenon morimoto mini stage III kit (H1). It fits into your existing reflective housing. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/com...l#.U8PoifldW8A

After typing this message, I'm itching even closer to pull the trigger and buy it from fishcakes, lol

Do you have any thoughts about this DDM kit? Its like $100 cheaper than the morimoto. What options would I need to select for the mounting brackets, HID harness and error eliminator fields?

1) he used to sell the pair with 6000k and 8000k hids pre installed but haven't seen any on his eBay store in a while.

2) coupe should be the same. Also be wary of parts4euro, someone else bought a pair that was supposed to have HIDs according to the site but it came with halogen 9005s instead

3) I think the reason no one has done that is because without cutoffs and a projector, we would be blinding people if you put HIDs in the original housings EDIT: woops, just realized those come with projector lenses

Strangebrew answered the question damn well and also those DDM are hard to beat for the price sometimes the bulb color doesn't match up but for the price cant beat them. As far as mounting the ballast I haven't even done it yet they are tucked near the fenders and haven't moved yet.

Parts 4 euro didn't come with hIDs for me. I ordered 5000k morimotos for it. I tested them out real quick and they look great. When I install them on the car sometime next month I'll post some pictures.

Also I was going to do the mini h1 retrofit but the idea of putting my lights in an oven didn't seem appealing.

Received and installed the DEPO projectors with the fishcakes HID kit installed. Really well packaged, housings are perfect, kit wiring looks good. Hooked everything up - one plug super easy. Tested... and the low beam projectors do not work. "C" DRL, turn signals, and halogen high beam all work and look great. The only thing that does not work is the HID projector, and now I have error warnings on my dash for the left and right headlights. The CANBUS ballast looks wired up correctly, and there are 2 inline boxes that I can only assume are the error cancelers. With the recall and supply issues referenced lately, it might be good to wait a bit before ordering. I emailed fishcakes over the weekend and will let you know when I hear back....

Do they work with the car on and the headlights On (not auto). If so then it's most likely the error cancellers. With the car off and the headlights on manually the car does not regulate voltage to the headlights so if the ballasts and bulbs are ok they should work. Also the wires could be reversed polarity, as it happened to me when i plugged my ballasts in, they can be plugged in either direction.

Thanks for the tips, will try reversing the ballasts tonight. And no, the HID projectors do not turn on in any combination of key position or car on/off.

Yea it was annoying I thought I had a bad ballast but after 20 minutes of playing with it been problem free. If not fishcakes will take care of you Chris seems like he is about customer satisfaction.

Yep, that was it. Unplugged each, flipped the plug, plug back in. Voila - projector headlights work. (getting the bumper realigned is a huge PITA though) And they are BEAUTIFUL. Really makes a big difference in the car appearance. fishcakes is the real deal - go get em while they last. I'll have to look at them side-by-side with OEM, but from pics you can't tell the difference.

I got mine from fishcake months ago and installed them to my sister's C250 W204 who lives 500 miles away from me. I have not heard any issues yet. But perhaps, she's not playing with the High/Low beams.
And yeah I have to agree, can't tell the difference between the OEM. But with the missing washer cut out on the bumper one would know from a distant. Same is true for the LED DRL, 8 LED's vs 4 on the OEM. But really, I don't care what they say...to each his own

Did anyone end up using an HID harness relay along with the ballasts, error eliminators and bulbs? I bought a relay from DDM, just curious if I need to use it

You should not need the relay harness, just the error eliminators.

I considered it, but in the end it's really not needed. The error eliminators have a power regulator inside that suffices. At least the morimoto ones do, not sure about other/cheaper ones.

Thanks guys, I'll try without the relay and see how it goes. Headlights should arrive Friday...unfortunately my DDMs are coming from China so no clue when those will get here.

Also...called a local indie Benz shop to see what an install would cost...almost laughed when they said $300. Thanks but no thanks, I'll try the DIY

I don't know anyone who has purchased those. That pair is pretty ugly, compared to the headlights that are the topic of this thread.

Could you link the auction?

Thanks Strangebrew! Most of the Depo sets on ebay do not include HID.

Was looking around online and came across this vendor where you can pay extra to get HID's included https://www.uniquestyleracings.com/i...id=320&search=

What do you guys think since they are selling Depo brand. Just noticed now they are out of stock. When I was on their page 2 days ago, you could choose HID options as well.
