curb rash

I was told theres someway you can get the curb rash fixed by getting it refinished? where do i go to get this done if its possible? and how much does it usually cost? its a pretty good curb rash, like 1/4 of my wheel.

Colt you were able to post one here.. your smart enough to google wheel repair in your area give them a call they can either come to you or you can go to them usually about $75 a wheel where I live.

How to repair depends on the finish on your wheels. OEM AMG 17s and 18s have a polished "diamond-cut"alloy finish that is clear-coated. Your average mobile wheel repairer can do nothing with these - has to be repaired by a shop with a wheel lathe.

There is an alternative that is used here sometimes and that is where a special paint basecoat finish is applied to the wheel rims that mimics the polished alloy finish (a bit like the Formula 1 McLaren race cars were finished with in the last years. Still expensive though due to the labor involved in masking up the wheels. :zoom:

San Jose CA, south bay repair shops?

My brand new ML350 developed curb rash as well. Any recommendations for a good shop in the Silicon Valley/South Bay area?
Thx

Had some curb rash on my wife's C250 taken care of by a mobile detailer. I'm in Atlanta and around here it starts around $100 for repair per wheel, which worked fine for the OEM wheels. Looks good as new, and they come to you.

Definitely don't need to go to the dealer for this - they'll charge you sometimes $200+ per wheel.
