white flexidip + plastidip glossifier

3 Attachment(s)
I thought 7 spoke 18" amg rims color isn't good match for white ext.
so I bought flexidip white and plastidip glossifier and test painted one rim.

i've used plastidip and flexidip both. most of people use plastidip.
i picked flexidip instead of plastidip because flexidip feels more like premium and surface was easier to paint evenly.
but damn flexidip's nozzle kept leaking :report::report::report:and got all my fingers wet.

here is the result....

after 2 days, it got dirty...white color << brake dust
lesson learned...It is a lot better to take wheels off...

I agree

Good job. it looks pimp at least for a little while. Might want to try black insides and white spokes to hide the break dust. Maybe? :nix:

I agree too. I think it looks too ricer with the white wheels. But of couse just my opinion. But if the OP likes it then I guess that's all the matters. :y

Are your wheels pitted? I ask because that close up shows a rough finnish. I was considering doing this as well, not in white though. Just wondering if that is the finnish that is to be expected, or was the rim not in that good of condition before you started?

that finish/texture is to be expected for plastidip

Mikephinney 06-26-2014 05:36 PM

I just wanted to see how it looks...so I only painted 1 out of 4...haha
It does have rough finish because I couldn't wait...I needed to wait after each coat but I didnt...it was getting dark...

You should do whatever makes you happy OP. It's your car and it isn't anything too ridiculous.

I think it looks nice, but like DJmegatron said, black would add some nice contrast.
