What do you use to detail your C class?

What shampoo, wax etc. you use for your car. Which is betterNANOLEX, MEGUIARS or AUTOGLYM? Do you know any site that sell them to Europe?

I use Meguiar's Gold class car shampoo, and Meguiar's Deep Crystal carnuba wax. I have my friend polish my car, and I'm pretty sure he uses meguair's products; he told me to buy meguair's and its been good so far.

Waxes do not last very long.

Here is how I care for my cars:

First an important piece of information. Most of the scratches in cars are caused during washing and drying the car. Small rocks can get in the rags when you wash, and those automatic car washes with brushes are terrible. Do not ever use them. Touchless is fine. Also never let the dealer wash your car. They don't avoid the above problems. Try to use clean towels to wash. Use the hose to remove as much debris as possible before you start touching the paint. If you drop something on the ground, don't touch your car with it. Ground=rocks=scratches.

1. Wash the car. Never in the sun.
2. Dry it without scratching it. Use microfiber cloth towels.
3. Put your hand in a thin plastic bag (like a sandwich bag, not the thick zip lock kind) and feel the surface of the paint. If it's rough, get a Meguiars clay bar kit and clay the car. Don't drop the clay on the ground.

4. Seal the car. My favorite sealant is wolfgang. You don't need to use much of the product on the paint. Let it dry for about 45 minutes and wipe it off. Don't let it get wet for a day so the sealant can set up. You can clay and seal the windshield too and wheels if you want.

5. If you want to protect it even more, put wax on top of the sealant. Remember to wait a day for the sealant to set up.

Most waxes only last a month or so. Sealants last 6 months.

Any type of car wash soap will work as long as it doesn't strip the old wax off. I prefer to avoid the soaps which have wax in them as they leave residue on the surface.

Once you have it cleaned and sealed, just wash it as needed. Reapply the sealant every 6 months.

My S550 and C300 both have Wolfgang sealant and Meguiars carnauba on top of the sealant.
They were both clayed before they were sealed. The C300 was scratched from me letting the dealer wash the car, so I recently used Blackfire polish to polish out the scratches with a porter cable.

Here's the hood of the S550 after wolfgang and Carnauba:

I use Adams or P21 car shampoo and wash using usual methods (lots of suds, top to bottom, soft wash mitt, etc).

I use Adams All Purpose Cleaner for wheel wells and under hood.

I clay (if needed) with any available detail spray as lubricant. (If paint doesn't feel slick to touch).

Seal with Opti-Seal. As noted above, the sealant is really for longer term protection, about 6 mos. wax is for depth and shine.

Wax with Zymol carbon (just happens to be what pure carnauba wax I have on the go at the moment).

I use Opti-bond gel on the tires for a soft shine.

On the interior, I use 303 Protectant on interior. MB text is essentially vinyl. It offers great UV protection without the shine. Is use a soft close as I read NOT to use microfiber on MB tex somewhere.

For my STI, I use klasse sealant as my base layer then put meguiars NXT 2.0 wax on top for the shine if I am going to any car shows.

For my c300, since it is my daily, I put opticoat on it in the first month of owning the car. For those who dont know anything about opticoat, it is sort of like a permanent clear coat on your paint so I will never have to worry about it.

I use Chemical Guy’s products and Griot’s products. I wash the car with Griot’s Car Wash and dry the car with a chamois. I then use their clay with their Speed Shine. I use Chemical Guy’s Scratch and Swirl with an orange pad and a green pad on a Porter Cable DA. I use Black Light Radiant Finish which is a glaze it gives the black finish a deep wet look and puts a UV protection on the clear coat. Then I put two coats of Jet Seal 109 this seals the paint for 12 months, nothing sticks to the paint, and even if you get bird dropping a little speed shine on a cloth wipes it right off. You can also use the Jet Seal 109 on your windshield or any other plastic or glass item. I finish off the car with a coat of BLACK - Luminous Glow Infusion for Black Cars & Finishes it gives the car a deep clear look that is amazing. I just put one coat on, then when I wash the car the next week I put a second coat on, that coat will last six months. Just before the winter I clay the car and reapply the Jet seal and wax and I am good to go. During the winter I take the car to hand car was. Chemical Guys also make Chemical Guys WAC_303 - Wheel Guard Rim & Wheel Sealant that works great on the rims, after washing the rims with a rim cleaner you apply the Wheel sealant wait ten minutes and then wipe off brake dust and grime stays off the rims, it easier to clean them the next time. It works on my coated AMG rims and my wife’s Subaru rims which are not as heavily coated. During the harsh northeast winter the wheels hold up.

Well i wax the car before 2 months with a Turtle wax i had in my home.. It was good but its not last a long. So i am going to do it again using other products.
What is the different between Carnauba Car Wax and Paint Sealants?
I must put the sealant and after the Carnauba wax?

Sealant protects the paint better. Carnauba wax will give the car that "glow" show cars have but doesn't protect as well or last as long as sealant. You can't do one right after the other because the sealant has to cure. So in order to get maximum protection as well as that great glowy look, do a sealant followed by carnauba. Like I said above, I wait at least 3 hrs between but prefer at least 24 hrs of curing time for the sealant.

Look up Drive clean on YouTube. Larry from Ammo NYC is amazing with his tips and videos.

I use the AMMO paint regimen. If you are "in the know" in the detailing world, you would too. Check out all his YouTube videos and website at ammonyc.com

GEeting metallic paint helps too =D stays cleaner looking longer, and cleans off easier, dries off smoother with less effort, and lasts longer without fading or being tarnished. Gotta love it. WOrth the extra 750, or 15 extr aa month or whatever. Everytime. MEtallic ftw.

Question : I used glaze on the car then followed up with a carnuba wax last week. Oh... the shine and deepness ;-) - I washed with zymol this morning. I wash once per week. How many weeks can I go before having to wax again ?

Location : Los angeles. sticky stuff from tree lined street builds up lightly.

About a month or so in my experience.

Detailing and keeping your car looking like you just washed it is not simple. I keep things fairly simple with a wax that affords me that luxury: Collinite 476S!

http://www.collinite.com/automotive-...oat-paste-wax/

It keeps my car shining longer, through bad weather even. It stays on the car longer making it easier for me to maintain with simple carnauba spray wax when it needs it.
Its the toughest wax ive found, and offers very good shine for the protection it offers.

I experimented with Zaino Triplets and Zaino sealant for a while too. Have mixed opinions about those products, but would still use them.

Watch out when using microfiber on your paint. I stopped using it when I found that a brand new microfiber cloth appeared to be ruining my finish. (Swirls).
Cotton is recommended for the most part.
