2010 C300 hot A/C. discribe your experience.
 

1) compressor starting rattling. 2wks
2) compressor would shutdown at 3000 to 4000 rpms. Week 6
3) would take really long to cool during 95f and up days. Weeks 6,7,8
4) week 9 Freon was at 25psi, added 1 can now I'm at 45psi. Rattling is getting lower as I'm adding Freon. Ac is colder ac line also feels colder.


5) week 10 compressor is no longer working ac not cooling.


Had it looked at by an independent Euro shop.

This car needs a compressor, expansion valve/block, receiver drier, and suction hose that may have caused the breakdown. I was told that this hose is a common design flaw, its too close to the high temp engine parts. It collapsed internally and choked the system or it was overcharged (not likely, the sensor would shut the compressor down) . $2037.05 to repair, I paid 247.14 to find all this out.

149.99 for evacuation and recharge.


I feel like I was duked . Why would you evacuate and recharge if the compressor tested bad. If it was overcharged with Freon why not evacuate some than test or even jump the compressor. What process of elimination was performed? I was given no details of diagnostics just the answer above.

my parents had 2010 (lease), and A/C didn't work when it was 105degrees...

I drove straight into the dealership without making appointment. I was soaked in with sweat...service rep was shocked and told me if I was drone in water...

it took them 1 day to figure out that hose was the problem....after a week, A/C didn't work again and started working after 3 days...it was on and off until lease was ended

had the same problem with 2010 c300 , I would have to shut the car down and turn it back on for it to work properly, so I took it to the dealer and found out that the compressor was bad, they replace it for free it was under warranty.

Ok a suction hose on a 2010 and a compressor on a 2012.


Anyone else????
