I don't even have that on my 08'. Any function to it or just a shaft for the tranny?

MB C220 Sport W204, 18" AMGs, Grey lthr, xenons, p'ktronic, HKardon, Comand nav.
Its there for cars with telephone "prewiring" that allows then the fitting of a specific or generic phone cradle eg an SAP or HFP cradle. I have it in my 2009 model. Not sure what's underneath it - maybe wiring. Certainly not the drive shaft, thats beneath the transmission tunnel under the centre console piece. Not sure if its removable - it looks molded as a piece with rest of the unit. Hope that helps

Pretty sure it is removable - but a bit ugly underneath. It's been a long time since I played with one

yes it looks molded
but i will try to pry it off GENTLY'
i can acces underneath as you can see the white sac i places goes underneath so the module is kind of floating over the empty available.
it is clean underneath.

The cradle charges the phone, links it to the car aerial and - from memory - gives full address book access. It is aimed at the older phones - pre-touch screen
