Need to buy new hood.... Should I order from MB or get a CF one?
 

So I need my hood replaced.
At my local dealership here in Alberta, Canada, I have the option of getting a stock primed (not painted) hood for 1150 before taxes.

Or I can order this
Carbon Fiber Hood

Pretty much same price after shipping.

Questions are, how easy is it to install? do I need any extra parts? Will I need a hood pin to hold it down or will it be heavy enough? Quality compared to stock?

If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Carbon fiber will never look the same as the OE item when painted, unless of course you're not going to paint it! Even then it'll need clearcoating and polishing. More noise emitted from under the hood, and never the same quality (no disrespect to the CF manufacturer) as OE. Just my view. :nix:

Hey, I'm in Calgary too; curious to know if you've got any pricing from anywhere other than the dealership? I had a fender bender a few months ago but haven't had anyone look at it yet (I think I need a new hood too).

Nah just from Lonestar.
I think that's pretty much only place we can order original MB parts from.
