dudeitsmattx's built thread!

Well I figured it was time to start my built thread since I have stuff coming to my house today in the mail. Along with my rims in the process of being build by Avant Garde:bow::zoom:. I will post a pic later today or tomorrow from when I brought her home. And some pics after the few mods I have done up until now. Coming in the mail today are my H&R coil-overs and blacked out front bumper side markers. In the next few days I should be getting the de-badge matte black front grill. Just need to install the coil-overs, order some tires, order lug bolts and order a painted roof spoiler and I think I will be all done..:nix:

which avent garde wheels are you getting? :smash: I have to get my new avant garde wheels powdercoated. I could scratch the finish with my finger nail . The woman is pissed that I have to powdercoat my new black rims black lol

Welcome and can't wait to see some pics. Best of luck!

I went with the 3piece forged F220. And dang sorry to hear that. The money I spent on mine they better not rub off. Going with brushed turquoise face, smoked mirror lips and smoked mirror hardware.

cant wait to see the results

Yeah that's what I'm saying. My last 2008 C300 already had aftermarket 20's when I got it so I never got wheels. Figured since I got this one all stock I would go all out since I'll have it a while. I've also never in my life owed 3 piece wheels or any top of the line wheels so I wanted to this time around.

Well finally got some time after work to install the side markers. Here's a pic. Anyone on here install the coil overs them self? I installed the H&R Super Sports myself on my 2008 C300. Is it fairly similar to that?

Grill came in today. Looks decent for a cheap eBay grill. I give it a 8/10 for quality. Here's some pics. I also give it a 8/10 for fitment.

I personally like it better then the SL style one with the single bar going across. And those are the only 2 to pick from other then stock. And here's a pic of the hood emblem. It's just the factory one that I plasti dipped. Sorry for the bad quality it's dark out.

dudeitsmattx Mar 7, 2015 09:50 PM

Just got a pic up date of the face of my 3 piece wheels I have being made. Nothing special just a sneak peak. It's the bottom right. Backside of the face brushed turquoise. Just waiting on the outer lips to be finished. Should be done by the end of next week.

Well finally after a long search for a local shop to install my coilovers for a fair price I ended up buying a impact gun and rented spring compressors and did the job myself. She's all done I will post some pics later. Time to clean the garage :(

Freshly installed. I assume it will lower a little more once the springs settle and get broken in within a few days just like with lowering springs.

:zoom:Yeah I love this Steel Gray Metallic!! I don't ever see any MB's with this color in my area. I was at the local dealer yesterday to get my paint color touch up pen and the parts guy said its a rare color to have. So I drove around the lot when I left and there was non new, used or getting service in my color!

What specs did you end up going with for your AGs? Looking forward to seeing them mounted!

dudeitsmattx Apr 15, 2015 10:07 PM

I was thinking about selling the factory wheels but then I figured maybe I should keep them incase I go on a long road trip or something.

I went with "Front 19x8.5 et35. Rear 19x9.5 et40

I went right to the local tire shop and already had them mounted and balanced and they are on the car . I love them. I'll posts some pics. But I must say I've taken a lot of pics but my phone just can't show the true color of these wheel that you see in person. The color in person is sooo sick! I'll be having a photo shoot done within a month or so and that will really be able to show the real color
