Hey guys, so today I was doing pads, rotors, and was planning on painting my calipers while I was at it to clean them up. I read that the plate on the front brakes (2011 c300 4matic sport) would pop off of the caliper so I tried to remove it from the caliper. In doing so, it snapped in half. I called the dealer and all they can do it get me a new caliper for $400 +/-. Is that my only option, to replace the entire caliper???

I tried the search but couldn't find any answers (all I have is my phone) so I'm sorry if this has been covered before!

mine just fell off somewhere.... I'd say maybe go to a custom welder/designer and maybe he'll make a custom plate for both your rotors (i should do that as well sometime).

Lol, because that would'be much more cost effective .

If I recall, the plates were part of caliper. you can try to jb weld(or any other similar adhesive) the broken piece back on.

I'd just hoof it down to a junk yard and try to grab one there.
