Mother of all Fluids and Service Interval
- Engine OilType: 272Interval: 10K mile or once a yearCapacity:
- RWD 8.5 US qt. (8.0 L)
- AWD 7.4 US qt. (7.0 L)
Specification: 229.5 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.5_en.htmlNote: You can either drain from pan or suck by dipstick guide. I prefer sucking because it's just easier.
- Automatic TransmissionType: 722.9Interval: 39K mile or 60K KmCapacity:
- C250 RWD 9.0 US qt. (8.5 L)
- C250 AWD 10.3 US qt. (9.7 L)
- C300 C350 RWD 9.5 US qt. (9.0 L)
- C300 C350 AWD 10.5 US qt. (9.9 L)
Specification:- 236.14 (up to 2010-06-18) https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol...236.14_en.html
- 236.15 (as of 2010-06-21) https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol...236.15_en.html
DIY:Note: Make sure you drain TC as well!
- Manual TransmissionType: 716.6Interval: LifetimeCapacity:
- C250 1.3 US qt. (1.2 L)
- C300 1.6 US qt. (1.5 L)
Specification: 235.10 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol...235.10_en.htmlNote: Very limited resources.
- Rear DifferentialInterval: LifetimeCapacity: 1.06 US qt. (1.0 L)Specification: 235.7 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/235.7_en.htmlRecommended to replace Fill/Drain plug during servicing. Both plugs shares the same part# 3529970032. Torque 50Nm. Use blue loctite during installation.
Note: Although MB doesn't mention service interval for differential fluid and so-called lifetime, I assume 100K mile is good mark to flush. - Front Differential for AWDInterval: LifetimeCapacity: 1.16 US qt. (1.1 L)Specification: 235.74 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol...235.74_en.htmlNote: Although MB doesn't mention service interval for differential fluid and so-called lifetime, I assume 100K mile is good mark to flush. Also there isn't separate transfer case. I believe the transfer case is integrated to transmission. Maybe this is reason why we see many AWD auto tranny failure?
- Power SteeringInterval: LifetimeCapacity: 0.85 US qt. (0.8 L)Specification: 236.3 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/236.3_en.htmlNote: I don't trust "Lifetime fluid". I consider flushing at 100K miles.
- Brake FluidInterval: Every 2 yearCapacity: 0.53 US qt. (0.5 L)Specification: 331.0 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/331.0_en.htmlNote: Although specification calls DOT 4+, I've used ATE DOT 4 without any problem. Also brake fluid service interval is time driven. Not mileage.
- Antifreeze/CoolantInterval: 143K mile or evey 15 yearsCapacity: 5.07 US qt. (4.8 L)Specification: 325.0 https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/325.0_en.htmlNote: This is such a long interval for coolant. Having said that, I can almost guarantee that thermostat will fail before that mark comes. You can flush it that time.

Bonus. Few regular maintenance item service interval.
- Spark PlugInterval: 91K mile or every 5 yearsOE:
- NGK PLKR 6A
- Bosch Platinum Y 7 MMP 33
Note: Tightening torque: 15 – 22 lb-ft (20 – 30 Nm)
- Engine Air FilterInterval: 26K mile or evey 2 years
- Cabin Air FilterInterval: 26K mile or evey 2 years
- Fuel FilterInterval: 143K mile or evey 15 yearsNote: This is quite long interval. I'm not sure whether I want to push that far.
- Engine Drive/Serpentine beltInterval: couldn't findNote: Mare sure you replace idle pulley too because it's known failure on 272 engine.

I think 26k miles for air filter is a little bit early. Usually 30k for a single air filter, 2 air filters for 40k according to Mercedes is appropriate.
Thanks for the info
