Get some quality HID kits like from the retrofitsource. You'll have proper power output and won't risk burning the projector housing or any of the electrical wiring. Their kits are a bit more than other sellers on ebay but TRS has great customer service along with their warranty and they will walk you through the purchase. I've bought many ballasts and HID kits from them for previous work and retrofits.

Yeah the xenon and HID kit are the same. As long as you get the 35W kit then you will be okay. If you get a 55W kit then you will produce more heat than the regular halogen bulb and risk ruining your headlights.

Hi wattage Halogen bulbs do risk melting your housing but that also depends on the brand. Piaa, Osram, Phillips, the brand name bulb companies for the most part will not melt your housing. However if you want HID's then like Sagar526 mentioned, get a set of quality pnp HID kit from The Retrofit Source or AZNOptics, they both sell Morimoto brand HID's which are very good quality, I've been using them for many different cars and have them installed in my lowbeams and fogs now. As you have a 2009 model you should have the halogen projector headlights which will help reduce the glare from the HID lights, but you will still need to aim the lights after the HID install.

Also note that 4000k-5500k HIDs bulbs will be ideal for maximum light output. Anything above 6000k will have more blue to the light color and decrease the amount of lumens and you will have less visibility.

This is the kit we'd recommend. 35w so won't have melting issues. Morimoto XB35 are high quality kits.

Those morimoto kits are really good. You won't have any issues with the projector housing burning.

The projector is what the bulb goes inside of. So that glass piece you see is the lens and the whole thing is called a projector. You insert your new HID bulb into there and take the old bulb out for your new setup.
