Exclamation Carbon fiber rear diffuser and exhaust

So I just picked up my carbon fiber rear diffuser and can finally finish up with doing my dual exhaust. It's a very thin piece of CF and is a bolt on piece. All I have to do is drill 2 holes. I got a quote from a body shop for $80 to install and I'm not complaining because I only want quality parts on my car and want professional installation but my friend who is a mechanic is telling me that he can easily boot it on himself And would do it free of charge. Should I just fork over the $80 or have him install it? It's a thin, flexible panel, and it has teeth on the top portion where it clips into the rear bumper, and then just need to drill 2 holes for where it bolts in. I think I could even do it, if my buddy wasn't available. Opinions on which route to take? My piece is wrapped up and I just leaving RW carbon now, and will be heading over to my buddies house to finish up on another project, but would love your guys opinions on which route to take.

I also just finished putting in a CF diffuser. You can totally do it yourself/with mechanic friend and save $80. There are 4 screws holding the stock diffuser in. 2 of them are next to the tips and the other two are below holding the diffuser itself in (I highly recommend reading the how-to on this).

What I found out is that with the one that I bought I ended up needing some longer screws for the bottom ones as the CF diffuser doesn't sit flush up against the screw points.

I currently only have 2 of the 4 in my CF diffuser as it was a much tighter fit than the stock and seems to be holding itself in place quite well.

Looks similar to the one I got. If you take out your stock diffuser you will notice 2 screw holes on both far right and left sides. I would bet those holes aren't there on your CF diffuser like mine. Try mounting it first with just the bottom screws and see how well it holds.

Thanks Ders. There isn't any holes in mine, so were going to measure it up, then drill them. Thank you for your info!

Can you reuse the 2 existing brackets for these aftermarket diffusers? I'm thinking to get one with big fins from Aliexpress.

All depends on the diffuser you get, but the one I purchased did not have the additional 2 clips on the inner part of the diffuser where he stock brackets clip into. We basically rigged my diffuser so we could still use and retain the 2 mounting brackets so that the diffuser would have something holding the middle section.
