New Benz owner.
I'm exploring the car's options and I was wondering if someone can tell me how I can activate the manual mode so I can use the paddle shifts. The mode by the gear has only E to S, but I don't see anywhere the magic M option. In S mode it doesn't seem to be obeying my upshifts or downshifts...
Also, I want to replace the key ignition with a keyless start/stop button and I was wondering if that is possible since my car has no keyless entry and drive.
If someone can point me to the right thread as far as it goes aftermarket options (I have been looking around and can't find anything specific), I'm interested to have an ECU flash, exhaust and DP, air filter.
Very excited to be part of the benz family since I have been driving Porsches all my life (still have my mod. boxster).
Cheers!
I don't have the paddle shifters in mine, but if it works like the manual shifting on the auto transmission, you just have to use the paddle shifters on your wheel and the car will shift gears up or down from whatever gear it's currently in.
Let's hope my first week of ownership will not be a traumatic one.
I cruised it 800 miles last weekend and it was a great experience. The rain sensing wipers are uncanny. Auto headlights are great!
I don't have paddle shifters and I never used the ones in my Acura - but used the stick manual shifting at times - just as extra downhill braking. It seemed pointless to use it for upshifting.

I'm watching C-class videos on functions operations on the MB site as we speak.

Now, I will wait to see what the dealer will tell me on Wednesday as far as it goes with the paddles and if anything else needs to be addressed with the car.
Then most probably I will start looking at mods: air intake, ECU, DP, exhaust.
I dont have paddle shifters which makes me think yours was added later. The keyless start/stop is nice and would surely add it if mine didnt already have it. There are lots of threads on here that talk to most of your questions, but understand that some searches will target older cars (2008, etc) so some info is close but not on. ECU, exhaust....all that is here, just poke around. I dont post much, but read a ton...I am sure there are more like me.
The paddle shifts were part of an AMG package that the car was coming with. The start/stop I don't know if it can be done, I can buy the button and install it myself but I have not idea if it going to work, so that's one more question for the dealer.
I have been looking around in here for the ECU, exhaust and DP but I seem not to be getting many accurate answers, oh well I still have to wait a bit more cause the car is under warranty still and I want to make sure I will not void that just yet.
Drive up to Utah from LV, there are some really cool back roads on the mountains but you have to make it a weekend getaway to worth it.
I also have a boxster S with the GT350 pack on it and that one is a blast to drive fast, I dare to say faster than a carrera S.

. Like some others said, if you do not have the keyless go, it's not worth the trouble to get. Sadly it's not just a simple button placement, require full rewiring, striping pretty much the whole inside, door handles + wiring for the keyless go. I remember another member seeked this out and they quoted him around around 8k for everything. Good luck though with the mods Oh well, I'm ok with using the key. Do you know which manufacturer would be the best for an ECU upgrade and an upgrade on the intake and exhaust?
Thank you!
