Alarm went off and everything is dead
Hi guys
So my alarm went off but there was no flashing lights. Tried to turn it off with the key but the doors didn't even unlock. Second remote didn't work as well. I used the key in the remote to unlock the driver door. Put the key in the ignition and nothing. Had to remove the terminals. Is this a bad battery or bad horn or something worse?

Is it an after market alarm? The wiring may be faulty ?
I would do a battery load test to start with.
You do not say where you are from. Security is everything ?

Its stock alarm in my 2008 C350. I am in South Africa. Car was parked in the garage and no sign of any forced entry. My battery did give issues in December where it did run flat after 30h of me not using the car (its 1 year old) and i took it in. They did put it on charge and did all their tests and said it is fine. So its back in the car now but i think it might be the battery. Just woke up so will connect the battery again and see what happens

One year old, I wonder whether you have a system not shutting down which drains the battery?
The suggested battery for these cars is a Absorbed Glass Mat ( AGM ) type with about 70 to 90 Amp Hour capacity. Mine is 8 years old OEM Varta .
Keep us posted.

So connected the battery and alarm went off but this time there was lights and my key worked so disabled the alarm. Tried to start the car and dead battery. The indicator on the battery is also black so its showing its dead. I drive say 15 min a day usually but yesterday i drove 2 hours. So i think its either not charging up or its not holding a charge. I do have a obdii bluetooth connector but its been in the car forever and never take it out.
